The Hideaway is hard to find but

August 2, 2010

it is worth the effort. We stayed eight nights and had a great time. Susan, the hostess, really has a little piece of heaven there. The ocean is so close that it took a night to get used to the sound of the waves crashing against the beach and the rocky cliff. The meals were simple but delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable. Also there 24 hour hot water available, something that is not always found in the inns of Ecuador. There are tours available too. We took the tour up the coast to Montanita, a really cool town filled with surfers and families out to enjoy the beach. There's a couple of malls in the Salinas/Libertad area that have just about anything you'd want. We enjoyed visiting the fish and produce markets. The seafood available is fresh from the sea. You can see the lights of the fishermen's boats out on the ocean every night. Susan is a wonderful hostess and made sure we had a vacation that would give us great memories for years to come.
