1 Doc Holiday
|Per week||$995 - $4,295|
Surfing or wind-boarding - both are popular sports with several good locations on the Outer Banks, including at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, and just north of the village of Buxton. Bring your own equipment, or rent or purchase locally.
Swimming - depending on your abilities, you may chose to swim on the Pamlico Sound side, or the Atlantic Ocean. The sound is shallow and is not subject to the strong ocean currents, except around inlets.
Trails/Hiking - several self-guided trails, averaging one mile each are available. Longer hikes can be taken along the dikes at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge and on the North Carolina Mountains-to-Sea Trail, which runs through the Seashore
There is a well known ship wreck close to the beach in Salvo. It is know locally as "The Richmond". It is approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile North of Ramp 23, which is just South of Salvo, placing the wreck very near the center of Salvo.
No trip to Hatteras Island is complete without a visit to the Salvo Post Office. The privately owned Salvo Post Office has a long history of serving the citizens of the Hatteras Island village of Salvo. When the Post Office was operational it was awarded a certificate for being in a tie as the smallest Post Office in the Country

This was our first stay in the Outer Banks and we had a great time. The accommodations were perfect. We didn't know much about the area so we really didn't know what to look for. We felt that we found the perfect home for the area. The views of both the bay side and the ocean side was perfect from our home. The walk to the beach was perfect. The pool for the kids was perfect and very accommodating. The size of the house was spacious and comfortably fit us all and our dog lovely. We would recommend this house to anyone.
Lots of bathrooms - nice size bedrooms and great beds. Nice Kitchen, Dinning Area & Breackfest knook, Great pool - our vacation was relaxing and very enjoyable!!! A very short walk to a beautiful Beach!!!
