Description of the San Casciano in Val di Pesa vacation home rental

Single family vacation home in Tuscany, Chianti area, just 9 miles from Florence centre.

The owners live in a close farmhouse and are able to speak English. The house sits in a dominant position with view over Tuscan hills, the back faces other village houses. The center of the village is few steps away so you won't have to use a car to get to restaurants or shops.

Car is not required. There is a cheap and fast (30 minutes) coach line from Florence center to San Casciano. The coach terminal is 700 metres (760 yards) from the house.

Kind of accommodation: self catering.
The vacation home for rent has got all the necessary to live: equipped kitchen, satellite TV, radio CD player, high speed Internet access and Ethernet/Wi-Fi router.
Two car spaces inside the property's parking lot are reserved for house guests.
Weekly cleaning is included.

The house: two bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, a dining room, a kitchen.
Outside: terrace with view, gazebo, BBQ, car parking.

Area Information

The rented house is part of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, a Tuscan village with many shops, some banks with ATM, good restaurants and bars, an olympic swimming pool, a cinema all within walking distance.

The village is on the top of a hill, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. It belongs to a rural area known as Florentine Chianti and it is famous for the production of wine and extra virgin olive oil.

There are no tourist crowds so you will experience the daily life of a Florentine province town.

The village of San Casciano is located 9 miles from Florence Florence, Siena is 50 Km away. You can get a bus to visit Florence, within 30 minutes it takes you in the heart of the city, few metres from Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo et cetera. Exploring Tuscany and Italy is very easy as you can easily reach the A1 motorway connecting nord and south Italy.

Heaven in Tuscany

We stayed at Il Visciolo for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a cozy, romantic place with great views, walking distance of a small village with wonderful food, good wines, and helpful hosts nearby to provide directions and recommendations. We found everything at Il Visiciolo! Although it rained a bit during our stay, it did not dampen our enthusiasm for this little piece of heaven nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Four people of 50+ rented a car in Firenze and drove to San Casciano Val di Pesa where we had taken Il Visciolo for a week - an old stone/brick barn turned into a beautiful house by owner Flora. The house was carefully chosen: We wanted a place not too far from downtown of a small place, we wanted kitchen facilities (and we did some superb cooking together!) we wanted two double bedrooms and preferably a nice view. We had it all and more! San Casciano is not among the most spectacular Tuscan towns per se, but it has a nice atmosphere, beautiful surroundings some good restaurants, a reasonable array of stores and perfect location for roaming around Toscana. The house had all the facilities. The kitchen even had a gas stove! There were plenty of towels. Guide books. Firewood. Bar-be-que. The owners even had some food for us on arrival. Everything worked. Everything was of a high quality. One of the bedrooms has a much better view than the other, so this would need to be considered if there are two couples. The owners live only a few seconds away and they were open to making suggestions about the area and letting us know where things were in the house. We had a great time in Toscana. We enjoyed the house and the service. We would rent the house again.
