Description of the San Crisanto vacation home rental
This comfortable home is DIRECTLY on the beachfront and only 1 of four beachfront homes in the area. It was completely redone in 2011 so everything is brand new. You can go from your pool to the ocean right down the steps of your private seawall. There is an outdoor shower as well as a toilet, shower and sink in the utility room (bodega) as well as a high efficiency washer. The water is pressurized, which is a rarity in this area and a hot water on demand water heater ensures you always have plenty of hot water.

A fully equipped kitchen with 6 burner stove with oven and bottom broiler, large fridge, blender, toaster, coffee maker, microwave and full kitchen utensils. All linens, including sheets, towels and beach towels, are provided. There is a breakfast bar with 4 barstools to enjoy your meals when you prefer to eat indoors. Outdoors, there is a propane barbeque grill, large sink and large bar where you can enjoy your meals along with the ocean breeze.

Living Room has a comfy sectional with chaise lounge on one end. Large plasma TV with US satellite - english speaking channels. You have panoramic views of the ocean as well as the pool area. Wireless internet is also available in the house for an additional charge.

Master bedroom has a king size bed and lots of closet, shelf and drawer space. You have a wonderful view of both the pool and the ocean from this room! 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed with chest of drawers and additional storage in the armoire in connecting bathroom. No more than six people are allowed overnight.

The main bathroom has both shower and tub and the 2nd bathroom has an enormous walk in shower. Both have lots of water pressure. There is a third bathroom in the laundry room right off of the pool.

There are multiple ceiling fans and there is always a fantastic breeze coming directly off the ocean. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and there are three in the main living area. We also keep large pedestal fans in each of the bedrooms.

You can park your car inside the gate of our home and feel secure. This is, however, an very safe neighborhood and the locals are very friendly. The caretaker lives not far from the home and walks her dogs several times a day and night right past our house. She keeps a very watchful eye on everything and is available for any assistance you may require. She is an American and also speaks Spanish so she can interpret for you if necessary.
Area Information
Swimming and shelling are our favorite pasttimes. Sunrises and sunsets are both beautiful and different each and every day. You can watch the various sea birds flying by including beautiful flamingoes. There is a tour available in San Crisanto for the mangroves and cenote. You can bring a beach towel and swim in the crystal clear waters of the cenote. There is a restaurant right down the sand road from our home that serves ice cold drinks and fresh seafood. You can purchase fresh meat, eggs and bread locally. There are stores here to buy your essentials, however, there are larger stores in Progreso or Motul which are about 20 minutes away.

If you want a little more excitement, you can take a short trip to Progreso which is a port of call for cruise ships. There you can visit the local vendors, have lunch or dinner on the malecon, or do some extra shopping. Merida is approximately an hour away and has everything a large metropolitan city in the US or Canada has available such as Sears, Home Depot, Liverpool, Wal-Mart, Burger King, Pizza Hut, etc. There's golf, casinos, ice skating, movies

Nice home

This was a lovely home and very modern. We have stayed in many houses on the gulf area and by far, this one is the most comfortable and beautiful. However the house was not completely furnished as with most other beach houses we have used. Make sure you contact the owner prior to arrival to find out what kind of supplies you will need for your stay. We had to buy dish soap, papers towels, and toilet paper among other things. Even though the house has a lovely sun deck with pool, the outside chairs were in need of repair and there were no reclining lounge chairs to do any sun bathing. This was probably the only real issue we had with the property. The property manager, Linda, was very nice and helpful. She had a wealth of knowledge of the area and lived just a few houses away. We very much appreciated all she did for us to make our stay pleasant and relaxing. As mentioned, the house is a lovely home and very comfortable to stay in. I would stay here again if the lounge chairs were available. The property manager said the owners were in the process of buying new ones. She showed us the old, worn out ones and they were pretty beat up. Again, I would make sure before my arrival, that all necessary items are in order to make the stay more comfortable.

Owner's reply:

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed our home! We have purchased new outdoor furniture as well as loungers so if you decide to come again, you will be able to relax by the pool or eat outside at the bar!

On the Beach!

Awesome Beach House! Extremely good value, as this area is not frequented by lots of tourists. Very quiet, sleepy little village. You really need a rental car, as bus service is very minimal. But with a car, there is a lot to do and see within an hour drive (Merida, Mayan ruins, small towns, Progreso, Motul, etc.) Or, just lounge at the private pool, or walk on the beach, which is almost deserted during the week. Weekends, locals party on the beach next door, and are friendly (although they do tend to leave a lot of trash, which is the norm in Mexico and Central America). American caretaker Linda G. is very nice, and extremely helpful. The house even comes with a rental dog (Linda G's gentle dog Senora stops by often to say hi!). Owners Linda and Lonnie Brandt are a pleasure to deal with. We'll be back!!

Quiet Seaside Homeî ;™œî™œî™œî™œ

We spent a week at Tres Palms. The house was clean, beautiful and up to American standards. San Crisanto is a quiet fishing village and most people speak little or no English. There is not a lot to do in the town. There is a nearby cenote that is a two-hour tour. There are a couple of small restaurants and stores for picking up a few staples. We flew into Cancun and drove to San Crisanto. On the way there, we took the toll road (approximately $32 and $14 USD) which was a nice road comparable to US interstate. On the way back, we went the "scenic" way. For the most part, the roads were decent, but many topes (speed bumps) along the way. (Approximately a 4 hour drive via toll road and 5 hours via the scenic route.) The owners were extremely helpful and responsive in preparing us with excellent driving directions, rental car information, where to shop, get gas, etc. The caretaker was also incredibly helpful and very accessible. She arranged a fishing trip with a local fisherman, manicures & pedicures, and answered any and all questions. Overall, if you're looking for a quiet vacation spot away from the crowds, this is the place for you!
