Out of the Phoenix heat, October 22, 2009
By Robin Rundle (Phoenix, AZ USA)
We also actually rented unit 209. The secured garage with 2 reserved spaces worked great for us. We had plenty of room for our Chevy Avalanche and the elevator was nearby to take us to the 2nd floor to unit 209. The view from the unit was great. The kitchen has an island that looks out over the beach. The Pier provides a great point of interest and the spectacular reflections of the lights from the Pier on the water at night were enjoyed while sitting on the balcony. The courtyard was beautifully maintained and the gas grills below were nice to have for grilling steaks. The folks in town were all very nice and friendly. Only a few unpleasant issues: the comforters on the beds were dirty and had not been washed; the beach had flies due to the seaweed, but it really was only a bother if you enjoy sitting on the beach. It's a great place to get out of the Phoenix heat. Renting a condo instead of a hotel room certainly has its advantages.

We actually stayed in #209 - not #208. We were on the second floor on the ocean in Imperial Beach with a spectacular view. The condo was really beautiful with plenty of room for all of us. It did lack a few essential kitchen items such as a potato masher and a cutting board (which we had to purchase) however, there were plenty of towels and linens. We thoroughly enjoyed living there for the week and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to navigate San Diego to get to all of the hot spots (Seaport Village, Old Town, Coronado and Balboa Park). Every afternoon, from our condo balcony, we enjoyed a cold glass of wine while we watched the surfers and beach goers. Several mornings, we spotted dolphins playing in the surf. All in all it was a very relaxing vacation. On behalf of the Shackelford and Leist families we would like to thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to visiting with you in the future.

Upon entering into the condo, the ocean was there to greet us. The accomodations were superb and the kitchen's appliances were knew and modern too. We had a "carne asada" in the patio and the gas grills sure made it easy to cook the meat and warm up the tortillas. Our children favored the pool, however, I just loved the hot tub. I was able to relax and relax and relax...ahhh. The living room furniture was very confortable and the dinning area was graced by a lovely wood table surounded by four elegant wood stools. The balcony was also furnished and included beach ware, chairs and toys for the children to build sand castles. The week went to fast, next time, we'll rent this same condo if possible for two weeks!
