Description of the San Diego vacation cottage rental

Located in a downtown, residential neighborhood in the heart of San Diego, The Cottage is located in a private garden behind our home. The Cottage is a complete small house that contains a full bath, full kitchen, bedroom (king size bed) and living room. San Diego's abundant sun is our energy source. Solar panels provide all our electricity.

The Cottage is fully furnished. There is a pump organ, comfortable reading chair and couch in the living room.
All bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, dishes, cookware, refrigerator, stove, microwave and coffee grinder. There is a washer and dryer as well as a clothes line.

Area Description

Our neighborhood is considered one of the best walking
neighborhoods in the United States. Within blocks you will find 30-40 ethnically diverse restaurants, a bakery, wine tasting, chocolate and desert shops.

Two miles to the south is Balboa Park. Walking through Balboa Park you will find The Old Globe Theater, museums, gardens, restaurants and relaxation. Continue your walk past the botanical garden and the fountains through Spanish Village, a community of artists, toward the San Diego Zoo.

Walk three miles south to reach the Gaslamp District on your way to the Convention Center, Seaport Village and the Embarcadero where the Star of India is moored along with other vessels in the Maritime Museum. Heading west you will pass the U.S.S. Midway museum, the Fish Market.

Walk west two miles to Old Town or continue on to Sea World. Walk a few blocks north to the medical center of San Diego county where Scripps Mercy Hospital and UCSD Medical Center are located.

San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Lego land, USS Midway, Balboa Park with 15 museums, Old Globe Theater, 30-40 restaurants within a ten block area.
