Me & my husband decided 2 stay here in Nov. 2011, while on biz in San Diego. The house is rather far from downtown & not terribly convenient 2 attractions, but we were there on biz. The pics show the house much nicer & larger than it is. When we arrive that evening & had unpacked the car, we were anxious 2 enjoy the gas fireplace. We found no gas key. I called the owner, Terry, 2 ask where it might be and he told me he doesn't allow anyone 2 use it because it is VERY dangerous & not 2 even try 2 turn it on, it hasn't been used in years. I wondered why he had it as an amenity at the time. He got very upset & told me that if we didn't like it 2 "GET OUT!" I was shocked. We had a long drive 2 SD and now he tells us 2 get out. I calmly told him that we would do so after our biz in SD, and that we wouldn't stay the full week then but leave within a few days. The refrig had someone's old take-home food in it that was half eaten, used carton of milk, & enough to fill a shopping bag. I had to remove the old food & wipe the inside down before adding our own food 2 the refrig. The security camera on the front porch & the security door, indicates it isn't the best area. The porch lights were all burned out. Not good. The kitchen sink is from 1951 & has been painted so many times that I counted 11 different colors. It is disgusting. No enamel, just paint. In adding nice furniture & new faucets, they never bothered to replace the sink, paint the walls or the badly needed bathroom & kitchen cabinets. NO 'working' PRINTER as claimed. No laundry soap or paper towels. We notified the owners when we were leaving. Due 2 the non-working gas fireplace, Maria, owner, said she would refund us 4 having 2 leave early due 2 the inconvenience and condition of the house, but to r surprise, when we arrived home, we got an email from her saying she would not refund us ANYTHING & they were going to keep ALL r money even for the days we didn't stay. I have numerous emails from both of them promising to return our 300.00 and we are STILL waiting for it. They asked for full payment prior to r arrival and then kept our money and gave us no reciept or our refund. We have posted our neg review on every site they advertse on and what they do is close down their ad and reopen it on another site to exscape our review. Terry and Maria said if we take down our neg reviews, then they will pay us our $300.00. So they admit they owe us $$. What CROOKS!!

The home was very clean and cozy. It was kept very well and maintained. The back enclosed porch was fabulous in the morning. The beds were quite comfortable and I would most definitely stay there again. We loved the home!

I would highly recommend this property for many reasons - the attentiveness of the owner to details and concerns, the close proximity to I-8, allowing easy and quick access to all parts of the city and beaches, the private backyard so perfect for pets ( my dogs loved it!), and the tasteful interiors, with all the extras. I stayed with my two dogs for two weeks, and could have settled in for a much longer stay. As a widow, I always felt secure in the neighborhood, and was always comfortable leaving my dogs in the backyard as I explored the area. The owner, Terry, could not have been more helpful. And it was always sunny, even in "june Gloom."' It lives up to its description as a "charming home" indeed!

This house is indeed a home away from home. It is clean & well furnished for a comfortable stay. Quite lovely are the polished wood floors in the dining and living rooms. The sunroom was enjoyable with the futon providing additional bedding. I would indeed recommend this home to visitors to San Diego as it is close to everything including Alvarado Hospital.

Over 50 people have used the house from large families to just a couple. Because the yard is fenced many with pets have chosen us. Brochures left for other guests attest to the variety of destinations/activities guests enjoy. They are always pleasantly pleased with the comfortable nature of home. The 1600 sq ft allows for plenty of space for everyone.
