Minimal stay duration is 2 weeks. We have other 2 people staying in our house on long term basis - they express their favor for longer staying tourists guests.
The Mission's geographical location insulates it from the fog and wind from the west. As a result, the Mission has a tendency to be warmer and sunnier than the rest of the city. Just walk downhill from 24th Street in the west from Noe Valley towards Mission Street in the east and watch rolling fog coming from Twin Peaks!
Nearest cross street is 21th street
Nearest bus stop is one block away, #27 will take you to downtown SF & Market St

The place is in an older residential section of town southwest of the city. Streets are narrow but the place had charm. The couple running it were very personable and I got to practice some of my very rusty Russian. We did not stay the first night b/c spouse was not comfortable with the "Room in a House" type of establishment. This is NOT a hotel room, although it did have it's own shower suite. It is also NOT a Bed & Breakfast, as no meals are included in price. Use of a very modern kitchen and space in a roomy modern refrigerator are made available to you. The bed is a Full and moderately comfy. The room has it's own combo lock. There is no closet. Clothes are placed in a wardrobe cabinet, but not enough room (height-wise) internally to hang shirts or dresses, especially if you brought clothes for more than a weekend. If you are traveling alone this would be fine and economical. If traveling as a couple, well, the walls are thin. Ensure you discuss with spouse BEFORE booking. All in all, if traveling alone, this is an excellent choice. My regards to the Management, and I wish them continued success and prosperity.

Pros- 1.Most welcoming home owners-Ken Spell was especially helpfull in waking up early in the morning to drop us of at the airport. They printed out all the paperwork to help us explore the area 2.Very neat place itself. All the equipments inside are new.The place is not too far from all the attractions. Cons- The bedroom is really suited for only 2 people and even children (mine were 4 yrs and 11 months) would be too crowded inside. Suggestions for improvement Although they give you full access to the house it will be nice to have some utensils and crockery set apart for the guests. It will be nice to have a fan inside for the hot days in summer.(The fan they provided was not working well)

This rental was the cheapest we found in San Francisco, but everything has been optimal. The room was very clean and the owners very friendly and polite: she is helpful and talkative, the husband wanted to brought us to the airport (and did it) just because saw us going out from the house when he was coming back from work. The Street is very quiet, but if you are looking for fun, few blocks away you can find restaurants, bars and pubs. The neighbourhood is a nice mix of people and deserves a visit! Convenient and comfortable! Luca

If you’re looking for a place to stay that is comfortable without all the tourists then you’ll love staying in the Mission District at the house of the windchimes. We met many wonderful business owners and patrons. The Mission District has awesome murals and some great architecture. Natallia had lots of suggestions of things to do and places to go, and they came with directions! A great help! We used public transportation and the bus stop was just around the corner. We had access to a wonderful kitchen and laundry . The home is beautiful and very comfortable. It even comes complete with Tiger the cat. He is a very friendly, laid back California cat! If you want to experience San Francisco like the locals do then this is the place to stay

We rented one room of the two rooms that were rented out. For students like us it was good place to stay and not too far from the downtown (20 min by bus). I think we got what we would expect for this price. Thank you for giving good directions where to go and what to see in San Francisco and nearby cities. And thank you for your efforts to make us feel like home!
We welcome you in our House of the Wind Chimes! Bring us a little story to share at diner with us, visit Mission Dolores - the oldest building in the City (1776), relax at Mission Dolores Park, and check out truly authentic Mexican food and numerous bars & restaurants. You may not leave your heart in the City by the Golden Gate, but we hope you will take with you the spirit of this place - a little bit of San Francisco!
