Description of the San Juan vacation condo rental
The sliding doors to the balcony open completely so the beach becomes part of your living area.
The bed faces the ocean so at night, with the windows open, you'll feel like you are lying on the beach, and the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep.
The Condo is in Condado, on the beach, next to the Marriot. If you are not familiar with Condado Beach area, it is perhaps the most popular, and well maintained, beach in Puerto Rico. The condo " Stella Maris" is on the beach, facing the ocean, and 4 floors up (the building has an elevator). The Living room has very large sliding doors that open onto the balcony, which overlooks the beach. The bedroom has a Queen sized Pull-Down Murphy bed. The condo comes furnished with all linens, towels, kitchen equipment, stereo, CD player, tape deck, cable flat screen
TV, Ipod/Iphone plug in port, DVD, Wi-Fi Wireless Cable, air conditioner, and many other amenities. All you need to bring are your clothing and music.
The building is very secure. The property is fully enclosed and gated. A key is required to enter the compound as well as the lobby. The elevator also is keyed which will only open to your specific floor. There is a Laundry room on the ground floor of the building with coin operated washers and dryers (cost is $1.25 per load). Your lobby key opens the Laundry room.
The Condado area is the main tourist area of San Juan and home to many casinos, fine restaurants, grocery stores, tourist shops, all within walking distance, and a 10 minute drive to Old San Juan and close to the highways that will get you to the rest of Puerto Rico. There is a fitness center, and a Cyber Cafe, about a block away. Taxis
and buses are always available as the "main drag" is a half block away.
The Marriot Hotel is right next door and has a great Casino, several excellent restaurants, with dining on the beach, and live music every night. Most of the island excursions ( Parasailing, snorkeling, Horseback riding etc.)can be arranged through them with the operators picking you up from the Hotel lobby. Although being so close to such a busy area, the condo is very quiet, except of course for the constant sound of the waves crashing on the beach below.

Beautiful View

After walking around the Condado area, there is no where else my wife and I would rather stay. The view from this 3rd floor condo is awesome. On the mornings we didn't feel like going out, we didn't feel guilty as if we were missing out on anything because all we had to do was open the large sliding balcony doors and we were right on the beach even from inside the condo. The crashing waves provided us with a constant white noise that was very relaxing (and drowned out any late night music or festivities so that we could easily fall asleep as early as we wanted). It's easy to get into and out of the condo and with all the keys, gates and doors, it feels very secure. The online reviews of the restaurants in the area were rather mediocre, so we walked to the SuperMax grocery a few different times during our week stay and prepared many of our meals ourselves. The condo's kitchen had all the utensils we needed. My wife and I highly recommend this condo. If you want the beach view in Condado, then reserve this place!

Exactly what we needed

We took a much needed vacation to San Juan and could not have asked for a better experience than renting from Fred. He was incredibly responsive to all of my communications prior to our departure, even sending me some great advice when I mentioned our planned day trip to El Yunque. Fred was also readily available during our stay on the island either to provide recommendations or just to chat. Everything about the process was simple and hassle free. This, in conjunction with the great location of the condo, made our vacation as relaxing and pleasant as possible. I my boyfriend's words were: 'This is like a mental massage'. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we certainly will be back to rent from Fred again!

Exactly What We Had Hoped

We have stayed in ocean view rooms in resorts and hotels before, but we never experienced being this close. It truly is a remarkably unique stay at a perfect price. The moment you open those sliding doors, the ocean envelops you with sound and sight like no other room we have stayed in before. The room was equipped with everything you could need including numerous amenities that were not mentioned. We spent hours just sitting on the porch, watching the sun come up, and the waves crashing below. Location is everything and I don’t think it’s possible to be in a better one in all of San Juan. There are numerous restaurants, casinos, bars, and clubs in each direction. The beach is perfect as it is situated a bit by itself so it doesn’t get crowded like the other beaches we visited. The condo is incredibly secure and so is the area. At dusk, there is plenty of patrol along the main strip in Condado (one block) and even an ATV along the beach. The process of renting was quick and easy with Fred and the mailed rental info packet with the keys walked us through any question we could have had.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this condo and had a wonderful time. The view and location, right on the beach, were worth every penny and the location was convenient for walking to a variety of good restuarants. The condo had everything we needed (beach chairs/towels, coffee maker, wine glasses, as well as anything you would need for cooking meals) and we felt very safe there. Fred was very responsive to any questions prior to and while on our trip. As others have mentioned, there is a Walgreens nearby for essentials along with a handy bodega down the street. The condo was clean and perfect for two people although it was not as modern or updated as a Mariott room would be. One of our top priorities in looking for a place was a view/balcony directly facing the beach and this condo was very reasonable when compared to the hotel offerings.

Just bring your bathing suit, sun block, and a few DVD's. This condo is located right on the beach with a balcony overlooking the ocean. It is very nicely furnished and comes complete with everything you'll need. No shabby, tattered bed linens or towels. No run down furniture. Everything is spot on. The building is safe, well run and quiet. The beach is a few feet from the front gate and Ashford Ave. is on the corner. Couldn't ask for more. Beats any guest house or hotel. Owner is very helpful and takes good care of the condo.

Amazing Ocean Views!

My husband and I stayed at Fred's condo for a week. The location is truly incredible. The ocean breezes and crashing waves never end. Fred met me on the day of arrival and was so helpful. The Condado area is really perfect for a beach vacation. We are already making plans for our return next year!

Clean, safe Condo - Beautiful location and views

Working with the owner was a breeze and a very professional experience. The unit was comfortable for two, clean, and secure. We felt at home instantly. The location, on the beach with a balcony overlook, was great for morning coffees and late evening sunsets with cocktails. Of the two minor problems we had with the unit, they were quickly corrected. We would definitely stay there again. I think this particular rental is a perfect spot for two - especially for couples, as there is plenty to do right there in Condado; great restaurants and nightlife. The condo has all the amenities and is within walking distance of everything you need, even small markets. The only regret we had was that we wished we had learned more about the area beforehand so we knew that straying off the main strip would have led us to more interesting eateries and entertainment - we didn't learn this until two days before departing. We ventured into Old San Juan twice - once by taxi and once by bus (definitely do the bus, only .75 cents each way, a HUGE savings over the taxi). We did a self guided tour of OSJ over the course of two days and saw a lot and had a great time - a lot of walking, so bring comfy shoes for that. We went first on a Sunday afternoon, which was great because there were all sorts of outdoor events throughout the city including music, fairs, festivals and food tastings. The second time we went to OSJ was earlier on a Thursday morning and that was nice because there were less crowds. I really enjoyed visiting some of the many cathedrals all over the place! Beautiful! We booked two excursions through the Marriot next door to the condo, which in retrospect I would not do again. It was costly and not as exciting as we had hoped. I would have used my money instead to rent a car for a day and drive myself. Overall, great trip, great condo!

Exactly What We Were Looking For

This may seem like we’re just echoing what others have said, but Fred’s place was absolutely perfect for our honeymoon. When people ask what the highlight of our trip was, we reply, “The condo, which was right on the beach.” What a great alternative to staying in a hotel, not only cheaper but also having our own kitchen and cooking equipment to save hundreds of dollars. Moreover, Fred was quick to respond to any questions we had while we were there, and even offered to have his building housekeeper take us around on a tour (a nice guy named Sam who also later offered us a ride to the airport on our way back). Overall, we couldn’t have had a better experience, and plan to come back to PR and stay in the same condo. Thanks again Fred!

Amazing first time Puerto Rico experience!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this fabulous condo in July of 2011-originally lured by its location and bargain price. The condo itself is a studio with a bathroom and kitchen, which came in handy to avoid the need to eat out for every meal. The best part was the balcony, which you got to via the full walled glass windows with sliding glass doors that opened as pretty much as wide as you wanted. You're practically on the ocean you're so close. The views are amazing as is the ability to listen to the waves whenever you're in the condo. The condo is conveniently located to shopping (including quite a few high end shops, which I was surprised to see, although I had no idea really what to expect as it was my first visit to PR) and a plethora of restaurants to choose from. I can't really advise on the location in regards to doing activities or tours, as although we had planned on doing a bunch of them, we opted for relaxing on the beach or at the condo for our whole stay, it was just too perfect to leave =) The bed is not the most comfortable but it does the trick, and for the price and location, you can't beat it. I highly recommend staying at this condo if you're looking into Puerto Rico!

From the second my fiance and I walked into the condo we were 100% pleased with our decision to stay at the Stella Maris! The view from the balcony is breathtaking which is perhaps why we spent so much of our time on it! The condo was very clean and the perfect size for two people. The full kitchen was great and allowed us to save a lot of money on meals.There is a constant breeze throughout the entire condo when the balcony and bathroom windows are open, which was so refreshing. Everything you need is within walking distance including a 24 hour Walgreens and lots of great restaurants! The beach was almost always empty, very clean and the water was like bathwater. And the best part about it was that it was right below us! The Marriott hotel is right next door and they are very happy to help if you have any questions about directions, etc. In my opinion, we really couldn't have appreciated or experienced Puerto Rico as much as we did if we had stayed in a hotel. Fred was great to work with and I would love to go back sometime soon! I would recommend this condo to anyone who loves the beach, falling asleep to the sound of waves, and watching the sunset over the palm trees! Enjoy!

My husband and I stayed at this condo for 8 day/ 7 nights and it was wonderful. We had a great time. The Condo was nice and clean. In addition, the condo was in a great location. It was in walking distances to a nice park and lots of restaurant and shops. - I would like to add the you are in the same location as a lot of big chain high end hotels. You get the same beach view (if you were to pay for an expensive room with a view) and you get the same conveniences being able to be in a great location near many things. - All with out the harsh prices. The description of the condo is great; however, the pictures do not do it justice. The view is really amazing, especially waking up to it. And as for the condo it is far better then you can expect. The condo is very well up kept and is extremely clean. As for the compound it is equally nice and very well maintained. As for helpfulness from staff I did not really see many, this condo is like coming to your own condo, no one messes with you and it is very quite. However, I would like to say Fred (the owner) was really great about communicating. If I had any questions or concerns he always promptly replied to my issues. It made the experience like renting from a friend more then a business transaction. So if feeling secure while staying in a nice, clean and relaxing place is what your looking for this is the place! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and plan on staying here again if we ever come back...It is a place that you will not only want to stay again but you will be proud to recommend to others!

Amazing Beach Condo

What an amazing find! This condo is even better in real life. Waking up and walking two feet to your deck overlooking the beach is something that I will not soon forget. The space is clean, cheerfully decorated and fully stocked for cooking meals, mixing drinks, and going to the beach. It's also extremely centrally located in Condado, with amazing restaurants and retail stores within walking distance in either direction. This is a far superior alternative to a hotel - highly highly recommended!

Fantastic beachfront condo!

This was the perfect condo for my fiance and I. It was right on the beach, and the beautiful blue ocean radiated throughout the entire condo. We were able to walk almost everywhere - lots of nearby restaurants, and it was an enjoyable and picturesque 45-minute walk along the ocean to Old San Juan, where we were happily surprised with the beauty of the area and the historic forts. Fred was extremely helpful and easy to get ahold of, and even accomodated us when winter weather forced us to move around our travel plans. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area and recommended several local places for us to visit. It was a short walk from the condo to rent a car for the day to visit El Yunque, which was probably the highlight of our trip. The condo was very clean and had everything that we needed. We would definitely recommend renting from Fred, and we would love to return.
