Description of the San Marcos vacation guesthouse rental
Pleasantly inviting, this 2B/2/B enchantment is nestled on 1 acre of woods off a private drive on the healing crystal clear San Marcos river shaded with majestic cypress trees.
On the banks of the river you can have a picnic,BBQ, have a campfire, try out the natural healing clay similiar to those you have at a spa, do some star gazing, or just relax in the peaceful surroundings. There are a couple of hammocks to enhance your relaxation along with a several tubes for tubing and a boogie board for floating down the rapids. Spencers Canoes(Shady grove camp ground) is just up stream for convenient canoe rentals.
The river offers fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and other water sports. This place resembles a resort that is fun, relaxing and affordable where many guests return yearly for their vacation.
Other options include: Band for Hire for your private party.
Therapeutic massage available with prior notice.
Also consider having your honeymoon here or even your wedding on the banks of the beautiful river if your having a small or medium size gathering. We have many package deals to offer that include professional musicians to perform for the ceremony as well as a four piece band for your reception.

Best Get Away Ever!

We just spent the weekend at this cute home in celebration of my husbands 50th birthday. We took are dogs, canoe and kayak. The house had everything we needed and we felt at home. The river is amazing. This is something everyone should experience. Close enough to town, but at night the stars were awesome!

This was the perfect setting for our family to celebrate my son's graduation from Texas State. The kitchen and living room are very spacious. Also, the mattress in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable! Nice river access as well.

House was nice and clean upon arrival. Excellent river access, walk right into the river, or jump in from the cliff behind the house, an easy 25ft jump, but be careful! Good fishing in the same spot where you jump in, nice and deep there. The house is fairly remote, your GPS will not get you there. My GPS got me right to the dirt road that you turn on to get to the house. The house is small but nice. 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath. 1 King bed, 2 twin beds and a futon in the living room that can be used as a fourth bed. Good for a family or for a small group. Kitchen has up to date appliances, outside has a gas grill and separate smoker. The house also has a canoe, 5 or 6 tubes for river floating and life jackets. The only drawback was no cable/satellite or antenna for the nice flat screen tv. I did speak with the owner who said he would get that addressed. No big deal though, too much to do other than watch tv. Overall great house and friendly owner. We will rent this place again.

The river house is everything it says it is and more...had my daughter's graduation party there when she graduated from Texas State last month. The house is cozy and comfortable and ready to entertain. Great ambiance. Everyone who came to the gathering thought it was the best idea we ever had! This spot on the river is amazing! The kids floated the river from downtown Martindale...lazy 45 minute float...back to our sandy little beach area. Perfecto. Loved the cypress trees as well as the peacocks and owls. This place is a jewel...we will happily return! Thanks again Marilisa and Rhea! You are a delight as well...happy to have made your acquaintance!

We rented this house so we could be close to our convention. It is awesome. The house was so nice, very comfortable with all the extras you have a home. You don't need to bring anything but your clothes to enjoy this little house. We didn't see the river until we were getting ready to leave. OH MY! it was like opening a window and stepping into heaven. What a beautiful spot. We saw peacocks, a herring fishing, red birds, and much more. The flowing river is beautiful to watch and relaxing to listen to. The owners have gone out of their way to offer their guests a LITTLE BIT EXTRA. I've stayed at a number of vacation homes and none of them have offered the warmth, beauty, and comfort of this house. The owners are to be commended. We plan to come back for a team party when the weather warms up. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing a place to stay in the San Marcos area.

Thank you very much Tanner for letting me and my family use your beautiful house and property. If I had the money, I would definitely make you an offer on it. Really though, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely use you again for a vacation rental. The place is perfect to just relax for the weekend and get away from the stresses of everyday life. If I had more time off from work and school I would love to stay a week or two. I hope you hold this treasure for years to come as we have seen many vacation spots disappear to commercial and private properties over the years. Thanks again, you guys are great and very very reasonable on the price. I think I may have to reserve now for the same time next year.

It's a very quiet neighborhood. River was great for swimming with a secluded feeling and very private. Even on Saturday we only saw three groups of tubers. It's a great place if you have small children. The house is very convenient to San Marcos and area attractions and the owners were easy to work with.

Perfect place to spend a week on the San Marcos river and enjoy this part of the Texas Hill Country. Aquarena Springs, Sea World, The Bertram Flyer... and the San Marcos river. Highly recommended!

Very serene and private. Beautiful natural Hill Country landscape with easy river access. Love the wildlife, rabbits, owls, peacocks, etc. Best place to get away from the noise and lights of the city.

This place was a wonderful place to stay, get away and unwind. I took my 3 nephews, all under the age of 9 and we had a blast. The house was clean and cosy and the river was breath taking. I am looking forward to going back at least once a year and encourage all who need a little peace and quiet, to visit. Thanks Tanner and Marilisa!

Peaceful River House

This comfortable guest house in a quiet country setting was truely a vacation for us as a mature couple and our one night guests. All the conveniences of home in a relaxed setting. We will do this again soon.
