Description of the Sandy Point vacation home rental
This home was fully renovated in 2008 with an open floor plan that includes beautiful panoramic views of the water from every room of the house. Ceiling fans in all rooms, and casement windows open to let in the “Rivah” breezes.
3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, new dual system central air and heat, septic system and public water system.
Spacious kitchen with bar and central island opens into the breakfast area and keeping room with a wood stove and gorgeous waterfront views from all sides. Tongue and groove walls with hardwood floors.
Waterside living room and large family/game room with foosball, ping pong table and new Berber carpets. Master bedroom has office/sitting nook overlooking the water. New two level pier, 2 ft MLW, Access to community sandy beach. Sandy Point Marina with boat launching facilities and gasoline is also located within two minutes of the property.
Bikes, Single and Double Kayaks are available

Just what the doctor ordered

A great many thanks goes out to our gracious host Bill. Our little slice of heaven surpassed our expectations. We put the hammock to great use, along with getting our exercise in with our daily kayaking,canoeing.enjoyed listening to the "turkey" hunt stories as well as learning how to crab. My wife particularly enjoyed it when we used the tandem bicycle (myself riding in front). We enjoyed all the local antique shops as well - maybe a little too much. We quite enjoyed our daily ping pong tournaments, along with just "taking it all in" a breath of fresh air. We've never been so relaxed, in such a long time. We'll definitly be back again!! Good luck with everything next month!!

Amazing Time

The house was amazing with so much stuff to do. Bill was wonderful and so accommodating. We got there and we had bikes, fishing poles, firewood, games, toys, kayals, canoes, and much more. The house was very clean and very well stocked. It seems that everything we could need was in a drawer or closet. There crab pots were are already baited and had crabs in them. The community beach is very close and was very nice. We caught lots of fish and saw lots of wildlife. We also rented a boat at belle isle state park and ran into a pod of dolphins. It was incredible. We were surrounded by about 200 dolphins that would swim right up to the boat. It was very secluded but there was always something to do. My children loved every minute of it. Thank you so much for one our best family vacations ever!!

This home came stocked with everything one could possibly need - canoe, kayaks, wood for the campfire, bikes for all, even fishing poles. Game room with ping pong and fooseball. Just an all around great house for the money.

This property had the most amentities for entertainment I had ever stayed at. The owner was so nice and welcoming, the house was adoreable, and the views were amazing. Not to mention he offered us boats, bait, crab traps, bikes, firewood, firestarter, hammock, ping pong, foosball, books, games, music, I could go on and on. We already plan on returning for thanksgiving!! Thanks Bill!

I actually stayed at Shannon Point, also in Sandy Point, VA. It was wonderful. The house is great, the views wonderful and everything clean, well maintained and comfortable. We hope to go again next year.

Birthday wishes came true for my daughter

My daughter wanted snow for her birthday and starting Christmas day we got it! The Millers provide a great escape here in Sandy Point for us 'big city folk'. We prepared and served a full Christmas dinner (due in no small part to the kithcen being stocked with all the pans and utensils) for our local family who came to spend Christmas eve with us - 5 additional family members stayed over on Xmas eve and there was plenty of room to spare. The game room provided hours of entertainment for the kids and adults as ping pong battles were waged until the wee hours. This was a great place for family to reconnect. We really had a wonderful time. The pictures of the house provided here are exactly what you get....we would stay again and hope to be back in a couple of years, if not this house - we will call the Millers and check out their other houses!

I really like the location and the house. Everything was great! Mr. Miller is wonderful. I only wish the house had more than one shower. it was only 6 of us (3 couples) and it was a bit difficult to stay there for more than 3 nights cuz we were wasting a lot of time waiting on our turn for shower otherwise it is a wonderful house with everything you may need. I still would recommend it. I love the view. The little fire wood inside the house was so cute and we really enjoyed it. We enjoyed biking, coning, and fishing a lot.

What a Trip!!

Bill made our stay Great! The house is much better than the pictures. The views from both the housse and the dock are great. Lots of wildlife to watch. We saw Bald Eagles and Ospreys and not to mention we caught over 3 dozen crabs on the dock in 3 days. There is a TV there but you wouldn't need it. I have rented many vacation homes and this one is by far the best equipped. The dock made for an easy place to keep our fishing boat, just watch the tides when coming in and out. If all works as planned I will stay here again next year.

Just what the doctor ordered. Quiet, secluded and relaxing - get up the next day and repeat. Eagles, herons, crabs, hawks and gulls. As if written in a novel, picturesque and beautiful. Rejuvenated and ready to go again. If you could bottle the week you'd be a millionaire. You can't beat the host - Bill Miller and the hospitality he provides. He goes way beyond what is expected as a host and then some. Canoe, kayaks, bikes, wood for the fire - you just can't beat it, he even offered us the tupperware to bring our produce home.

This house vas amazing from its comforting decorations to the gorgeous location, it provided for a wonderful family experience. The neighbors were very friendly as well and happy to share tips for crap catching and boating. Thank you very much Bill. We are hoping to return in the fall.

Relaxing Family Vacation

This house was GREAT!! We are a family of 4 which includes a 2 and 3 year old. This house was absolutely perfect for our young family. It had everything you need for a weeks vacation. All you really need to pack is food and clothes ( and childs bikes if you need them). We really packed too much. The house is very clean. The neighborhood is very quiet. My kids rode their bike to the beach every single day. The beach is really nice. We were the only people on the beach most of the week. The kids could play in the water and you didn't have to worry about them. My hubby walked ot 100s of feet and was not even to his waist yet. Bill is so accommodating. What ever you need he would try his best to accommodate. Since my sons have been born this was the most relaxing vacation we've been on. That is hard to say with a 2-3 yr old. It is not located close to any major cities. At least an 1-1 1/2hr away. If your looking for a relaxing vacation I HIGHLY recommend this place. Have fun!!

My family with many younger children stayed here last weekend and I can't way enough about how much I loved it! Not only is this house beautiful and clean it has everything a family could need or want on vacation. There is enough room everyone could congregate in the same room plus enough room you could get away and have some time to yourself. The location is wonderful and nothing tops lounging on the hammock. The house was well equiped and had more than we needed which we did not complain about because that was just perfect. The people for the house are nice people who left their bikes,and other lake equipments which we tried to use but didn't make much of it because it started raining. It's the best place to be when you want to have a getaway with family or friends and big enough to fit a small group of people. Thank you cause we had a blast for our friend's birthday!!We sure will be back soon....

My family's stay was wonderful and it was everything we expected and more. We loved having so many activities to do and being able to enjoy the beach setting without crowds and congestion. We enjoyed sitting on the pier in the back yard watching the eagles and other wildlife and enjoying a cup of coffee and watching sunrises and sunsets. We were especially thankful that we were able to vacation with our small dogs. We are looking foward to vacationing there again.

We stayed in this house recently and really enjoyed it! The owners were extremely accommodating; letting us use their bikes, kayaks, and canoe to enjoy the water and beaches nearby. This place was incredible. Exactly what we were looking for. The house was very clean, well-suited for all ages, the water was great (kayaks and canoe were provided) and the overall area was just perfect. The owners, who were great, loaned us some bikes and we explored the area as well. I will definitely stay again!!

What a fabulous vacation this was! It was the easiest vacation we've ever had; the owner is a great guy who supplied us with bicycles, kayaks, a canoe, big blue crabs and an outdoor pot to cook them in. In one day we went bicycling, kayaked, went for a boat ride on the river where the kids went for a swim and pulled up crab pots, cooked crabs and caught the ones that tried to get away, had a feast, and ended the day with a bonfire. It doesn't get better. Another day I took 140 photos of one heron and every shot is different. We saw eagles, egrets, foxes, rabbits, a wild turkey, turkey buzzards and gorgeous skies. We watched the tides going in and out, and felt ourselves slow down...it was good for the soul; the stress just melted away. There was so much to explore...beautiful countryside, vineyards, small towns and villages, and a super restaurant nearby. The house is amazing, immaculate, spacious and filled with the best collections that make it a winning rivah house. I miss it.

We had the best time here very relaxing couple of days and the house is so beautiful and comfortable. We made some great memories here our 4 year old caught his first fish off the dock and was super excited about it. Its very clean and we didn't want to leave it was so nice.
