Description of the Santa Barbara vacation home rental

Early Spanish 1920's home in beautiful Montecito very secluded on two acres with gardens designed by famed Lockwood de Forest. Giant eucalyptus, pine and palm trees, large formal gardens.

The home consists of a large living room with fireplace, brick floors with french doors to back garden with mountain view and front garden. Adjoining is guest room with queen bed and private bath.

Dining room with french doors to center patio.

Lovely kitchen with gas stove, microwave, T.V. Washer/dryer in separate room.

Den with 32" flat screen TV., Wfi, internet connection, Cable.

Master bedroom with fireplace, king bed and adjoining bath. French doors to center patio.

House located up a long, private drive. Walking distance to quaint Montecito Village.

Weekly or month rentals accepted. No nightly rentals.

Area Information

A ten minute walk to Montecito village or 20 minute walk to the beach or San Ysidro Ranch. Beautiful mountain view with lovely trails. Nice restaurants within walking distance, drug store and coffee shop.

This is an excellent, quiet retreat. It is unique in that it is one of the few rare early California homes still available.

Q:What is the most wonderful thing to do?

A:Just sitting in one of the most beautiful, lush gardens in Montecito. No need to go anywhere else. The many giant trees, box bushes, secret places to sit or meditate. There are few places left in the world like this garden.

Q:Why is the rental special?

A:Because you are in a charming, old Spanish hacienda with brick floors, wood burning fireplace, antique furniture, comfortable bedrooms and the sound of many birds and a wonderful owl if you are lucky to be here when he/she is nesting in the tree.

Q:What is a wonderful activity?

A:Stroll to the back of the property to a secret path to the Picacho Lane and walk up the road to the mountains and over to San Ysidro Ranch for cocktails or dinner at the Plow and Angel or walk down the long driveway to Montecito Village for an Expresso or breakfast. Endless trails into the mountains nearby.
