First of all, we really enjoyed the location. Very close to the city but just far enough away to feel peacefully remote. Caroline is wonderful - very easy going and kind. Her attention to detail is impressive. In the morning we enjoyed coffee, fresh eggs, and english muffins that she'd left for us. Had a lovely fire in the fireplace. Large, beautiful windows let in lots of morning sun if you leave the curtains open. In the evening you can see the stars and it is dead silent outside. Bed is comfy with plenty of pillows. The kitchenette had everything we needed and the bathroom was cute with interesting fixtures and a nice skylight. Thank you! You absolutely cannot beat the value of the delightful little apartment.

I have never stayed in a place that provided so many wonderful extras. Fresh eggs, juice, fruit, coffee, flowers, bed warmer, fireplace with arranged firewood; everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. And the price ($70) was a great value.

This place was lovely, as was the owner. A gorgeous spot outside of santa fe with everything you could possibly need, plus many extra special touches.. The coffee in the room was outstanding! It is a bit hard to find, but nothing GPS can't overcome. If you aren't into the idea of hotel ABC, this is a unique and special stay, especially given the price. Wow, wow, wow. No doubt i would stay again on any return visit to santa fe!

My husband and I spend a week meandering around Albuquerque, Sante Fe and Taos, and found the perfect place for two! Our hostess answered our questions, forwarded detailed directions and warmly met with us when we arrived. Located up on a ridge, just off a freeway, far enough to think you were away from everything, we found the perfect place! Spacious, modern, beautifully decorated, with fresh flowers and a big bowl of fresh fruit; Caroline had left the refrigerator stocked with fresh coffee beans, juice, yogurt, english muffins and fresh eggs from her chickens. What a welcome! We had a private patio with twinkling lights from which we could enjoy a sky full of more stars than I've ever seen at night, and where we could take our coffee and enjoy the beautifully varied bird life at the little pond in the morning, while we took photographs of the sun as it came up over the mountains. And our casita came with a great bed and wonderful linens that instantly put us to sleep. The bathroom was stocked with fluffy bathrobes; a live orchid happily grew in the shower beneath the skylight, and everything you might have needed, was stocked in the bathroom cabinets! Although we did not use the TV or fireplace while there, we did appreciate all the wonderful books and guides for sightseeing in the area. While we were there, we enjoyed a wonderful all day ride on the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad, loved the Georgia O'Keefe museum; toured around Sante Fe and Taos and visited wonderful artisians, including those of the Taos Peubo. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Sante Fe Baking Co (try thier breakfast burritos!!) and a great dinner at Rancho De Chimayo on our way back from Taos. We hope to come back to this wonderful casita soon! Caroline was so gracious to check days after we left, to see if she could find the cell phone that I lost while in town and it would feel like "coming home" to come back!

Caroline's attention to detail is incredible...everything was taken care of and nothing was missed. She even had coffee beans, sugar and creamer for us! I loved the fresh eggs from Ian's chickens, fresh flowers, fruit, the visits from Bosco (standard poodle), etc. We loved the composting and recycling availability. We didn't see Caroline during the week but her presence was always felt. (i.e. she would turn the lights on for us if we weren't there by sunset, emptied the trash daily, etc.) The casita is very private and quiet. The decor and flow/layout of the place was perfect. Cable tv was provided so we didn't feel out of touch with the world but also had the option to sit on the patio and watch the full moon rise over the mountains. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were plush. We spent a fantastic week at the casita and look forward to going again. We have been raving about this place to all of our friends. It is a great find!

the place is a little out of the way, but SO worth it. It is clean, quiet and peaceful. The pictures you see is extactly what you get! It is stocked with all the basics and a few added extras that make you feel special. Caroline is friendly and makes you feel right at home. The kitchen is stocked with all the basic needs plus an espresso/coffee machine. The bed has an electric heated mattress that is super cozy on a cold night. firewood is readily available if you want to use the fireplace. The shower has an adjustable shower head that works great. The pond w/ small water fall directly outside the front porch is a relaxing, just get you cup of coffee/tea and sit outside enjoy the quiet of the outdoors. My husband and I would definitely be back..

We opened the door and smiled. Carolyn had left us a beautiful boquet of flowers The fridge was stocked with breakfast treats in case we didn't come prepared. We can't say enough about how welcoming and thoughtful Carolyn is and how beautiful and welcoming the cottage felt. If you needed direction, she was present. If you wanted alone time.....you didn't even know she was in the home next to you. And she is delightful to get to know! The cottage was perfect. The view from "All the windows" was mountains....beautiful sunsets....... Great hiking right outside your door and 10 minutes to downtown Santa Fe. We brought a standard poodle Sadie who enjoyed playing every morning with Boscoe her new "poodle" friend" WE WILL RETURN. THANK YOU CAROLYN!!!

Caroline was a wonderful host and her little casita was an absolute delight to stay in. With so much to do and see in Santa Fe and the surrounding area, we did not get to spend as much time at the casita as we would have liked to. We definately need to book more than 3 days. We have never stayed at a 5 star hotel but our every need was anticipated and the hospitality shown to us was great. It's a bargain for $65.00/night.

My husband and I visited Santa Fe thirty years ago, our only memory was about the plaza and the numerous galleries. This time, thanks to Caroline, we will have fond memory of our sweet home away from home. Even Caroline's two dogs did a good job as welcoming hosts. What a perfect Santa Fe getaway! Awesome location close to town, but secluded, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful mountainous landscape. My wife and I enjoyed our holiday very much. From the spectacular surroundings to the intimate details, our stay was wonderful and carefree. Caroline was attentive, respectful, charming and consistently one step ahead of our wants. The studio casita was fantastic; moments away from the city yet far enough away to give a sense of solitude. Beautiful Casita

We stayed at this Casita while visiting Santa Fe. The setting is beautiful. Don't be fooled by the outside because it is basic adobe. The inside is spacious, well designed and has all the facilities you would want. There is even a working fireplace. The hostess provided us with fresh flowers, fruit and food for the the first morning and actually comes in regularly to take away the garbage. We certainly recommend it to others!

Caroline's apartment was perfect in every way. It was roomy and comfortable. It had a beautiful porch looking out at the mountains, fish pond with waterfall and the spacious back yard. Location was close, but not to close to the town of Santa Fe. It felt like you were going home. On top of the property you get Caroline. She was a fabulous hostess with fresh coffee, eggs, bagles, fruit and flowers awaiting us. We will be back for sure.

If you choose a hotel over this place, you're wasting your money. At this price, it would be difficult to find a home that could leave you with a more authentic Santa Fe experience than this comfortable casita. We loved the drive to and from town, and Caroline made every effort to assure that we were well provided for. Our visit was a quiet respite. Thanks so much, Caroline. We hope to visit again. Caroline was an outstanding hostess! She made our stay there so unforgetable. All her tourist guide books,helped us plan out our day. The beautiful scenery that surrounded the place was breathtaking! This studio was fantastic! It's close enough for a short drive downtown but in an area secluded enough to feel like you're miles outside the city. Perfect. I enjoyed this place so much that I am recommending it for friends and family that visit Santa Fe. Caroline gives great attention to detail and made our stay very comfortable.

This studio casita was the perfect combination for my first visit to New Mexico. Removed from the busy tourist areas to enjoy the peace and beauty of the landscape, and yet close enough to Santa Fe to easily take in all the museums, restaurants and shopping. It was wonderful to return at the end of the day and listen to the bubbling waterfall of the goldfish pond. It was just as lovely to wake up in the morning and enjoy the birds bathing in the pond while having coffee (beans, grinder and good coffee pot all provided!) The casita is only as good as it's hostess, and Caroline takes care of everything. She is attentive to details (providing plush linens, abundant breakfast fixings, everything you might need from umbrellas to binoculars!), thoughtful (leaving outdoor lights on for late night returns) and provides exceptional service (daily tidying/linen replacements in the most unobtrusive fashion). Although I had done a fair bit of research and knew what I wanted to do, I appreciated the many guides and books provided, as well as Caroline's suggestions. Her recommendation for a restaurant on our last night was divine (and affordable!), and I'd go there reguarly if I could! I cannot imagine finding a better vacation rental for the price. The casita is comfortable, completely functional (I love the retro decor of the bathroom), and the views are simply splendid. Thanks Caroline for sharing this beautiful spot with us.

Thanks this beautiful rental, we had the best vacation ever. A quiet place with everything you need and more. The view, the little pond with goldfish, the fully-equipped kitchenette, and especially the hostess's extra-special touches made this an extraordinary find.
