Description of the Santa Rosa Beach vacation cottage rental
Rome Prize winning architect Walter Chatham built this special beach home, and the same it was on the cover of Architectural Record as the magazine “House of the Year,' and was awarded the prestigious “Award of Excellence” by the National AIA. Featured on the covers of 30A, Florida Architecture, Houston Magazine, and six major books on outdoor Florida architecture, The Chatham House is a Seaside landmark.
The award winning structure consists of two pavilions flanking either side of a central heated pool, with a central 40 foot tower. Utilizing movable panels and multiple doorways, the house can be almost entirely opened up. According to Chatham, “The house functions best with all doors open, blurring the distinction between indoor and outdoor living.”
The house features three full traditional bedrooms and a forth bunk room with a full bath and shower, a Bisazza glass tiled pool in the center of the home, with fountains and a swim jet. Each room is filled with modern art and eclectic yet functional furniture.
The home has a multi- media center with Apple TV in each room. A dramatic glass bridge over a glass tiled Koi pool leads to the front of the home. The kitchen has Viking and Subzero appliances. A front marble dinning table flanks a Viking outdoor kitchen grill. The tower features a multi-person hot tub and breakfast table overlooking the ocean and the town.
