Description of the Santa Rosa Beach vacation guesthouse rental
Beach Cottage: 3 bedrooms /2 bath;Sleeps 6-9. Great view of Gulf & private lake from all but 2 rooms; 4 min from House to Gulf of Mexico;
UNCROWDED BEACHES for swimming, walking, boating, or surfing. Only 18 private dwellings exist in the mile east of our beach access; To the west three miles of beach is totally deserted because a state park prevents development. At night you can see stars that you never knew existed because there ��s no light pollution.
PRIVATE LAKE: There ��s a 40-acre lake 50 feet from the house
BIKING: 22-mile biking trail on 30A, within 100 yards of the house. 1 bike & helmet at house
SHOPPING Over 100 manufacturer outlet stores at the Silver Sands Factory Outlet Mall 5 minutes away.
FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT: Puppet Theatre 5 min away; Water Park, go-cart racing, and miniature golf 15 minutes away in Destin in addition to playing games in fresh & salt water, beach fun with sand and pail, digging clams & chasing crabs on the beach with a flashlight & bucket.
FISHING is available from the lake or at the Gulf shore 300 yards away, a 3-minute row and 90-second walk.
The house has an outside shower for washing off the salt and sand and a gas grill for cooking your catch.
In Spring and Fall fishing trawlers pass within 60 yards of our beach to catch pompano that runs just off the shore.
A fishing license, tackle and bait are available at a modest price at the Destin Wal-Mart 14 minutes away. Crab traps are under the back steps.

A scenic spot, the park contains Western Lake, ringed by an extensive salt marsh and abundant with wildlife. Stop by the park office and pick up a self-guide nature trail brochure. 10 min from beach cottage
Henderson Beach State Recreation Area: Just off Hwy. 98, near the eastern boundary of Destin,. Two bath houses with outdoor showers and four boardwalks (two handicapped accessible). Picnic tables, pavilions, grills and parking. Campground sites with full facilities. Open 8 a.m. to sunset daily.
Eden State Gardens and Mansion:
Worth Seeing (10 min from house)
East on Hwy. 98 then north on Route 395, Point Washington. Built in 1898 by lumber baron William Henry Wesley, this Southe rn mansion is surrounded by flowering trees and stately oaks. Guided tours of the mansion Thursday through Monday, first tour 9 a.m., last tour 4 p.m. Gardens open every day.

The Glass-Bottom Boat

Dear Britton,
We had a terrific time. We had several days that were perfect as far as the weather goes. Also the ocean water was about 70 degrees, a little chilly when we first got in, but nice when we got used to it.
The house was in good shape when we got there, nice and clean and per usual, everything was in working order.
Once again, thank you so much, we just love everything about the house, lake and beach, it is a very special place. Please pass our best wishes to your family.
