the islands are beautiful, the beaches are stunning, the sapphire resort has the potential to be great but falls sadly short on amenities . they have let the resort property run down. the condo was nice, but our door would not lock, our toilet ran, and most of all our back door had a gap in it so all the humidity and most of all all the neighbors second hand smoke came directly into the condo all day, all night!! i figured that the condo would have been checked out before we arrived to make sure all was good. i felt for the price of the condo that was something we should have expected to be done without question. the property has so much potential, the pool pavillion was vacated with everything just left as is. what a great place to have drinks and a bite to eat.to eat why would they not want A place for residents annd visitors to relax and spend some moolah. sounds like a good business opportunity!! we had agreat two weeks on the islands. got a feel for what it may be like to live there. thx for allowing us to stay at your place ! matt and reiko

We started the week with 4 of us and the condo is really more comfortable for 2 people. Our two daughters left after 3 days which was planned as we had already been in St John for a week. My husband and I found Sapphire Beach beautiful with excellent snorkeling. We were surprised by a dive shop next door so he could go diving easily. You could easily get drinks, food, snorkel equipment from the adjacent Sapphire Beach Resort and Senor Pizza walked up and down the beach. Crystal Cove is very well maintained. In the middle is a salt water pond with interesting ducks, fish and iguanas walked all around the beach and property and were just amusing. The Crystal Cove residents support a colony of 15 friendly cats that are not a nuisance and are just sweet. They come out at sunset and the iguanas are out during the day. There are roosters in the background that crow at sunrise but it adds to the ambience. Red Hook is a rising town with some cute stores, good grocery markets and good restaurants. The condo that we stayed in was clean and adequate. It was slightly dated despite some efforts to renovate it. Norma, the housekeeper at the property is very helpful and bought all our groceries for our arrival. The laundry is clean and in the facility. The pool is underused, beautiful and if it is windy, the place to be. It has a large cabana overhang to get out of the sun. I would definately stay here again if in St Thomas.

This place has a beautiful beach and reef. Period nothing else. The restaurant and bars are closed and boarded up. The swimming pool is dirty and has sand all over the bottom. The reception area is run down and the staff is rude and uncooperative. The public bathrooms are unusable! When we arrived someone was in our room, couldn't move in for a day. Half of the lights didn't work in our unit, had to have the toilet replaced because it leaked, out of it for a day. Had a power outage for a day. The website is a terrible misrepresentation of the resort. DON'T GO!

If you want a peaceful and relaxing vacation this is the spot for you. We spent 9 glorious days at Sapphire Beach soaking up the sun and swimming in surf. Our accommodations were wonderful especially the views from our patio. Peter was great to work with and everything you could want is in the condo. We would definitely return here if we go back to St Thomas.

There were several unmet expectations we had about Sapphire Beach Condos. The condo was unkept, older, and in need of several minor repairs. The door handle to the deck was broken and we needed to pry the door open with our fingers. The hair-dryer blew out while we were there and it took all day to get a replacement. The place was not overly clean. The promised "third-day" full service cleaning did not happen. The faucets in the shower needed replacing. There is a hotel attached but the hotel staff would not work with us because they are owned by someone else. You had to take a cab to get much of anything, including cash because the hotel ATM was broken. But hey, the beach, snorkeling, and dive shop staff were all excellent. Parasailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and sailing excursions were all a short walk to the pier.

This condo on Sapphire Beach was excellent! Big comfortable bed with beautiful views of the beach, ocean and St. John and other islands. Snorkeling was great. A great breeze off the water into our condo. All the comforts of home and close to Red Hook. Very friendly people. Sam, the manager, did an excellent job. He responded quickly if we needed anything. We will definitely rent again from Micheal. He was easy to work with and told us exactly what we could expect. It was a beautiful place with amazing views and lots to do. We went fishing with Double Header, a fantastic dinner cruise with New Horizens, took the ferry to St. John, and lots more! You can find lots to do or just lounge on the beach. Thank you!!

Overall not a bad stay. Keeping in mind we booked it for the beach and not the room. The room was not too bad just a little dated. The people were nice and helpful if you approached the corrcet way. You should always remember to be polite and dont expect things to happen too quickly and not just at the resort. Folks there simply do things are their own pace period. I would go back.
