Two full baths; Master Suite includes luxurious soaking tub. Self-catering - fully appointed kitchen, with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, coffee maker, cooking and baking utensils, lots of counter space and service for eight.
Great Room features 22' high wood-burning fireplace. You'll also find a stereo, with AM/FM tuner, CD player and iPod dock with remote. Dining area features an amazing stump wood table, great for meals, as well as board games - a great selection of which can be found in the cabinet next to the fireplace.
And if you're one of those folks who still like to know what's going on in the outside world, don't despair of this get-back-to-nature hideaway. You'll find a 42' Plasma screen television in the loft, with basic cable, and available On-Demand movies and sports. Did we mention wireless internet? That's there too.
And just in case, there's a Washer/Dryer - complete laundry accessories, including ironing board and iron.
In the summer, cool off in the pool, steps from the front door.
For cookouts, there's a gas grill. Just off the back porch, you'll find a lovely patio, nestled among young pines, with a fire-pit, for that campfire experience.
And, oh yes. The All-Season hot-tub - Located on the screened in back porch - a terrific way to relax, spring, summer, fall or winter.
The pictures tell the rest of the story...
Next time you're ready to pack up the car and get away from it all, remember Roadside Marker Vacation Cabin.
Area Information
In town, attractions include the many art galleries (over a dozen), small, independent shops, and restaurants, such as the Phil's (our favorite, and a 'do not miss!') Marro's Italian Restaurant, The Elbo Room, Coral Gables, and the Mermaid Bar & Grill. There are art and music festivals throughout the year. Downtown seasonal fun includes the Harbor Duck Adventures, an awesome tour of Saugatuck, Douglas, and the Kalamazoo River on a converted WWII amphibious vehicle. In the same vein, the Saugatuck Dune Rides (just a mile or so from the cabin) are a thrill a minute - like a roller coaster ride through some of the most beautiful country in America!
Other attractions include the nearby town of Douglas, Saugatuck's sister city. Douglas is also home to the SS Keewatin, a coal-fired steamship formerly of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The 105-year-old ship is a floating museum and a fixture in the harbor.
Our favorite, though, is the wonderful topography of the Dunes themselves. A great afternoon can be had over at Saugatuck Dunes State Park - just a few minutes away. A semi-strenuous hike brings you to the shore of Lake Michigan, along a magnificent 2.5 mile stretch of beach. And speaking of beaches, you don't want to miss Oval Beach! Just across the bay, named one of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World by Conde Nast. (Get an early start in the summer - a beautiful beach like Oval will get busy fast!) It's also a great area for sledding and snowboarding in the winter - lots of thrilling (and challenging - seriously USE CAUTION when sledding some of these dunes!) sledding we've every experienced.
And at the end of a full day, you return to the cabin, where you can plop your happily exhausted self into the private hot tub, or warm your tootsies by a nice fire. What could be better than that?

Lovely home, wooded setting
March 31, 2013
very relaxing and and cute town to explore, I'm sure this area is happening in the summer, we are hoping to come back at that time of year next time. during the off season, this would be a great "girls" weekend of family get away from it all type vacation, which is what we were looking for during this visit. very enjoyable, thanks again. the house accommodated all our needs :-) the Hanssens

Peaceful

The cabin was a clean and lovely getaway. We were fortunate to have lots of snow so we could enjoy the view. We were a close drive to the frozen lake and to the town itself. The cabin had everything we needed! Thanks for sharing it with us!
