Charming

This charming historic home has been immaculately renovated, is bright and airy and exceeded our expectations. Views of high and low tide of the "bay" right across the street were refreshing. This area is stunning. We brought our bikes and were thrilled to cycle Schoodic Park again and again, as well as biking to nearby Corea, Birch Harbour and Winter Harbour. We did whale watching from Lubec and sighted both Minke and Finback Whales, on a boat for just our family of 6 (reasonable $) - ask at the restaurant on the wharf. Jones Pond was great swimming for the kids, but we also swam in the Atlantic at Schoodic and also at the beach on the way to Corea. If you like wild life, we were thrilled to see bald eagles regularly, a seal in Prospect Harbour, dolphins and porpoises (from Schoodic Point and whale watching), and lots of "treasures" in the tide pools, including a sea urchin. Fresh lobster and blueberries were amazing; the organic farm up the road was a real treat. Prospect Harbour is quiet and charming; cycling home to see the fishing boats and the lighthouse in the late afternoon sun, warmed my heart every time. This was an unforgettable holiday.

Relax and Enjoy

Very nicely appointed house in excellent condition. Clean and comfortable. You can hear the ocean all night and watch the tides roll in and out. Nice little corner store for cheap lobsters or pizza for the kids. A nearby local restaurant bosted a "ribeye night" that knocked our socks off. Easy day trip to Bar Harbor for a tourist fix as well. Highly recommend to anyone looking to relax, hike and enjoy the Maine coast. Owners very responsive to requests of local knowledge and a pleasure to work with to set up for our needs.
