Excellent point of departure for visiting the Southwestern coast of Sicily from Agricento to Trapani, following suggestive routes of high interest both naturalistic (the reserve of The Zingaro) and archaelogical (Temples' Valley, Selinunte archaelogical area), for holidays between hystory, nature, sun and beach. Sciacca is also popular for its Carnival (one of the most important in Italy and the most important in Sicily) which attracts many visitors.

We found the Fontana Calda through one of the gay-friendly websites, looking for an inn near beaches (like Capo San Marco) and antiquities (like Agrigento). We are SO glad we found Doris and her lovely estate nestled in a picturesque olive grove. Sciacca is a charming town worth visiting for a slice of Sicily...not too big...not too small. This is a substantial fishing community with many good restaurants specializing in fish dishes. Doris was wonderful recommending us to nearby restaurants that we really enjoyed. She provided us with directions and made reservations for us when needed. She patiently drew out detailed directions to some of the beaches for us as we were constantly getting lost; and provided us with beach towels. The house was really splendid. She has four rental apartments with everything you can want. We did laundry twice...part of the Sicilian experience after all is to hang dry your laundry. She gave us a complimentary bottle of local wine and equiped the kitchen wit
"The villa has everything you need ie oil spices, cleaning stuff etc. We found it a really relaxing and comfortable stay. The views are lovely. Doris is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome. A beautiful holiday."
"Modern comfortable apartment containing everything needed for a home from home experience with sunshine! Doris and Massimo are generous and hospitable hosts who genuinely want their guests to have an enjoyble stay. Would definately reccommend to anyone who wants tranquility and beautiful views and yet within a short distance of a lively town and some good beaches."
Dear Doris, just to say a big THANK YOU for making our short stay with you
so wonderful, we enjoyed it so very much and the appartment was superb.
The area round Sciacca we thought was excellent, it has not been taken over
by tourists/commercialism and will recommend your appartments to friends.
Hope the Olive tree continues to thrive - regards and best wishes to you,
your husband, your son, the 2 cats and the dogs. thanks again
