Description of the Scofield vacation cabin rental

Our cabin is a perfect get away for relaxation and recreation just 2 hours from Salt Lake City!

The kitchen area is big with a large island, barstools and comfortable dining table that seats 6. A balcony can be accessed from the kitchen area which makes it a great gathering place.

The Great room has fireplace, couches, a card/poker table, and big window view of Scofield Reservoir. Off the Great room, is a master bedroom with full bath.

Upstairs has 2 bedrooms, a loft and full bathroom.

The basement has a pool table and full bath. Air mattress' can be used in the loft or the basement.

The development (Scofield Mountain Estates) has an outdoor family gathering area with picnic tables, and basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts.

The birdseye view is our cabin under construction in 2009.

Area Information

Property is surrounded by great views, lake and stream fishing, wildlife, lake recreation, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, 4-wheeling, and snowmobiling. Accessible all year round, but in winter guests will have to snowshoe up the driveway because it doesn't get plowed.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities

Scofield, Utah is pretty remote, so there isn't any shopping nearby. There's a small convenience store with gas available year-round, and is open in the summer for limited groceries. At Scofield State Park, there is parking and a boat ramp.

Within walking distance from the cabin, there is a small recreation area with basketball and tennis courts, and a pavilion with picnic tables.

Our cabin is a perfect "get away" from the stress of every day life. We don't have a tv, so with the exception of an occasional ATV passing by, our cabin is comfortable, quiet and scenic.

Good times at the Sweet 16 cabin

February 9, 2013

We spent a week at the Sweet 16 cabin and had a wonderful time. The area has lots of winter recreational opportunities. We went ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, XC skiing, and showshoeing. All within a mile of the cabin. The cabin is beautiful! Lots of wood everywhere. Everything is luxurious while still retaining the rustic feel that a cabin in the mountains should have. It is open and spacious and the fireplace kept us warm and many great conversations and toasts were had around it. The kitchen was very spacious and great for cooking, the gas range is one of the nicest I have seen. The bathrooms and bedrooms were also very nice. The views were amazing and I saw many great sunrises and sunsets over the high and flat skyline of the Wasatch Plateau. The statgazing was spectacular too! I would recommend this cabin rental to anyone. The pricing is very reasonable and the owners were great to work with. Thanks Gregg!

Great mountain escape

My Family (2adults 5 children) spent a long weekend at this wonderful Scofeild retreat. The fishing was great (my daughter caught the bggest trout), the views were spectular. and the accomodations were rustic/plush. I highly recommend this getaway.

Peaceful Getaway

January 28, 2013

I stayed in this cabin with some family, and I had the experience of a lifetime. Having stayed in dozens of vacation homes and hotels across the country, this place was one of the most serene and peaceful place I have ever been. The cabin inside was very comfortable. The living space has an L shaped couch that was great for both relaxing by the fire and playing games. I stayed in an upstairs bedroom, and was very satisfied with the beds and rustic bed frames. The kitchen was incredible too, spacious enough for everyone to hang out and pitch in while cooking. The surroundings are what make this place so special. We were able to walk to the lake a matter of minutes. Since it was January when I stayed here, we snow shoed to and across the frozen lake; it was so quiet and peaceful. We were able to ice fish one day, too! This place really is a diamond in the rough. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors, simply spend some quality time with close friends and family, or a bit of both.

Great Cabin!

I stayed at this cabin with some friends in the fall. The weather was perfect and we were able to do many outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, 4 wheel ATV's). The cabin is large, comfortable, and has a great view of Scofield Lake! I would highly recommend staying here!

Awesome Lake Front Cabin

This is a spacious and well laid out cabin. There is plenty of space for 10+ people. The kitchen is gorgeous and there is plenty of space in the family room for all to gather. The location is perfect with easy access to the lake or to take a hike. Would highly recommend it to anyone!

Me, my wife, and 2 boys (15 and 17) love the cabin, but now that the boys are older, we don't get up there as much anymore because of all their activities. It seemed like it was just being wasted, so we decided to share it with others by renting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:What do most people do when they go up there?

A:Relax with friends/family in the great room and kitchen, with the view of the lake through the large windows. Most people also go fishing (its great from our canoe, from shore, or from your own boat or float tube)--we did some ice fishing this past weekend (1/4/2012).

Q:What else do your guests do at the cabin?

A:Biking and hiking are probably the 2nd most popular. There's also a tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts in the pavilion. In the winter, people bring their snowshoes, sleds, ice fishing equipment, and/or snowmobiles. Some go up with friends and never leave the premises--they just hang out and enjoy the views.

Q:What is the closest town?

A:The closest town is Scofield, Utah. But this is a very small town, with only a couple year-round residents. The closest town with services to the east is Helper, UT (40 mins) and to the west is Fairview (40 mins). The closest towns with hospitals would be in either Price (50 mins) to the southeast, Mt. Pleasent (50 mins) to the west, or Spanish Fork back towards Salt Lake City (1hr 10 min).

Q:Is there cell phone coverage and WiFi?

A:There is cell phone coverage in the cabin--its limited when you're on the lake. In the cabin, I use my Verizon Internet card to get Internet access on my laptop.

We don't have WiFi set up there.
