Description of the Seabrook Island vacation home rental
Area Information
Now,Seabrook Island is even better, with the new Club and Property Owner's facilities (completed in 2009), which you can enjoy with an Amenity Card (included in our rental charge). The new lake house is a short bike or car ride away, with its outdoor pools, childern's play area, fitness center (small daily charge); the new Tennis and Equestrian Centers are also nearby. The main clubhouse, golf and beach club are a gentle stroll away or 5 minute bike ride.
Enjoy eating a fabulous meal overlooking the ocean in the Palmetto dining room or an informal lunch or snack with a coctail at the open air Pelican's Nest (during season), just a stone throw away from the beach and ocean. Or,simply sit in a beach chair and watch the dolphins surface and pelicans catch their daily meals.

We have traveled many times in over twenty years to Seabrook Island. We have stayed in many different rentals, including homes on the ocean and the Pelican Watch Villas. This rental was the first home that we rented in the interior of the island. In early March, due to the cooler weather, it was a perfect choice, as it blocked the ocean winds. We liked the golf course setting, and on one occassion when my husband and son came by on the golf cart they called and I ran snacks out. We also liked walking the golf paths at dusk. The house was well appointed and very clean. The owners were generous with the usage of their bikes and beach chairs.

Excellent Seabrook Island Rental

My wife and I just completed a one week stay on Seabrook Island. The home was a beautiful rental. I would highly recommend this rental. The location was very nice. Although we didn't spend a lot of time at the beach due to the Feb weather, but we did walk to the beach several times (walk is 5-10 minutes). The home is fully stocked with all the essentials. Very nicely decorated and every bedroom has a bathroom. When running the showers, be sure all doors are closed as the smoke detectors are sensitive to the steam. Be sure to include a trip to Charleston, awesome restaurants, shops and old homes. Back at Seabrook, there are several restaurants/cafes at the mariner and several more at the shopping center between Seabrook and Kiawah, all are a 5-10 minute drive from the house. If you plan to bike ride, bring or rent bikes. The wrap around porch was really nice and provided a nice view of the golf course and pond. The owner is very easy to work with and very responsive. I would certainly plan to stay at this home for our next trip to Seabrook Island!

Great house and short walk to the beach

We stay for 3 weeks at this property and are looking to return next year. The house is well designed, very comfortable and close to a fantastic beach. SeaBrook Island is very private and a perfect place to relax. They have not only 2 nice golf courses but a great indoor swimming pool and health club. One can also go to the Kiawah Island resort to play the ocean course but not be in the middle of the massive resort. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly and really appreciate the ease in which everything was handled. Despite it being winter time, the weather was very comfortable for playing golf, walking along the beach or biking around the island. The nature around the island is also spectacular which makes the entire place that more relaxing. Fresh Fields Village between SeaBrook Island and Kiawah Island is a good place to shop for most items but one should plan on a trip to Charleston since this historic city also has a lot to offer. Looking forward to coming back again sometime next year!

Our family enjoyed a week in this house on Seabrook Island from September 28 thru Oct. 5, 2012. The house itself is beautifully decorated and very well stocked. The atmoshpere is very high class and the views are wonderful.! We had everything we needed and more.The master bath is fantastic and hugh! This is a very comfortable house and in a really great location as well. The walk to the beach is not long and it was great having bicycles and beach floats as well! The sunsets were breathtaking from the back porch and we enjoyed the hugh porch swing as well!

If your looking for a great place to "get away from it all"...look no further! House is perfectly located to beach, pool, & clubhouse.The kids rode their bikes to the beach / pool every day, and "amazing" golf courses are located jut across the street - GENIUS! We will return again...owners are very helpful. Only thing missing is a "2012 - University of Kentucky - Mens Basketball - National Championship Banner" hanging from the rafters!!!! Go Cats!!!!!!!

Our party of nine just returned from a week-long trip to Seabrook Island. The island was simply perfect for our diverse age group ranging between four and eighty-two years. Upon arriving at our property, we were greeted with a courtesy phone call from Mr. Calhoun who assured us he was available for any questions we had. There were ample sleeping quarters and bathrooms for two couples, plus two teenagers and one ten, nine, and four year old. Mother enjoyed swinging on the back porch as she tried to estimate the size of Alli, the resident gator in the lake behind the house, and an occassional friendly exchange with the golfers. The children took full advantage of the wi-fi to juice up their iPods, and I was able to work as needed from my laptop. We gave the kitchen a hefty work-out and found it to be up to the task and able to meet all our needs. In fact, the sink has inspired me for our next decorating job! And I cannot say enough about the upstairs jetted tub. For the smaller children, it was like being in an indoor pool! The amenities on the island were quite nice. While we never made it to the horses, the teenagers took advantage of the gym facilities and arcade, and we all played at the pools. The zero entry pool was ideal for our four year old!! And the bigger children could flip to their hearts' content at the adjacent larger pool. The closest beach access was an easy walking distance to Walk 3. Unlike Florida beaches, the manicured boardwalk took us through an organic thicket of seabrush. From the first day we visited the ocean, we were in awe of the adventure. Sea turtles had just come up on the beach to lay their eggs. And the sunsets over the island were magnificant! The many deer, rabbits, and racoons provided daily entertainment. We enjoyed the dolphins along the coast and at Capt. Sam's Inlet four of the seven days we were there. And we were able to witness them strand feed twice, right at our children's feet! The marine life was plentious; as was the history in the City of Charleston. We enjoyed the educational experiences at both the Hunley Museum as well as at Patriot's Point. Having my dad along, being both a patriot and seaman, ensured that every experience came to life! And our excursion to Magnolia Gardens was equally enchanting where we witnessed 10 foot plus alligators and an abundance of turtles and birds. And the children loved the petting zoo! I highly recommend this home and island for travelers

Another great week at Seabrook for my family--is was the first time we have rented this house, but the best house we have rented--by far--on the island. The most well equipped house we have ever rented as well---Really close to beach access--backs right up to beautiful golf course--and Pet Friendly!! Certainly doesn't look like the average pet friendly house either--so clean and well done--beautiful wood floors and furniture. Very easy home owners to work with--Thank You Mr. And Mrs. Calhoun--will be looking for an open week at your house this summer!

Really enjoyed our stay at Seabrook. House was extremely nice. Very well kept. Nice walk to the almost empty beach! The area was beautiful. Only downside is the distance to other things. It was nice being away from the world, but wish there was a little more close to the gated community. The dog had a great time. She loved the house! The deer were abundant all around the community. I would stay here again, longer next time!

Better than the Pictures!

We fell in love with the home the minute we walked in the door! It looked fabulous in the pictures but it was even better in person! The home is beautiful, impeccable and so very homey and welcoming. Anything you could need in the kitchen is there for you. The beach and pool are nearby as are shopping and a food store. The week went by so quickly, we hated to leave.

Can't say enough about this beautiful property and extremely accommodating owners! We were supposed to be in OBX when hurricane Irene came thru and this owner not only rescued our family vacation by getting this rental set up within hours - but we ended up with a better vacation than originally planned! House is beautiful, clean, fresh and kitchen was stocked better than home. There was plenty of room for my family of 7! We loved eating out on the porch and lounging in the swing watching the wildlife on the pond. The beach is pristine (honestly even prettier than Hawaii!)and a short walk away - short enough that my 2 year old did it several times a day. Beach club was perfect for parents and kids - and again walking distance or just a 2 minute drive. Entire community is lovely and extremely friendly. Love, love, loved it! My family is already planning our return trip for next summer! Thank you Mr and Mrs Calhoun!
