Description of the Seattle vacation apartment rental
St John's, built in 1910, is a charming old building. There are two floors of apartments, 26 in all, over several retail spaces along Pike Street. We have 23 full time tenants. We decided to have short term rentals available after traveling abroad and seeing how much more convenient it is than staying in hotels. This apartment, #304, is on the top floor and has a great view of Pike Street below.
Before we started renting this as a short-term, the apartment was fully remodeled, with new paint, carpets and kitchen cabinets. The kitchen is small-it takes the length of one wall-but it works really well. There is a dining table seating four, and next to that a small living area with couch and large stuffed chair. We have a TV with DVD and VCR and an extensive movie collection, CD Stereo and large, eclectic collection of music. The apartment has cable TV and FREE wireless high speed internet.
The master bedroom is on the corner of the building, with windows looking out on Pike and Harvard. It has a California king bed (it's 6" longer than a regular king size bed...great for tall people.) The second bedroom has two twin beds. These are adult sized twins--about six inches longer than a regular twin. They are pillowtops and are soft and luxurious. All our beds are fitted with 600 thread count sheets. There's nothing like a good nights sleep!
Our parking lot is right behind building. Parking costs an additional $12 daily.
There is a sunny back deck that all the residents in the building share, with lounge chairs and a gas barbecue.
We have full time manager living in the building, Johnny Sidorowicz.
Johnny will check you in and out and is your concierge while you stay with us.
To reserve we require a $150 deposit on Visa or MasterCard, the balance is payable when you check in. Please let us know if you'd like to stay with us.
Thanks!
Area Information
The neighborhood is great to explore. Capitol Hill is a very up and coming neighborhood and we are in the middle of it. Across the street from us is a large QFC grocery store, open 24 hours, and it draws people. There are restaurants (and fun nightspots) all around us. Seattle's Community College is a block away, and Seattle University is about five blocks. Plus the best bookstore in Seattle, Elliot Bay Books, is two and a half blocks.
The convenience of the grocery across the street should not be underestimated. The store is quite large and truly world class, with a great selection of fresh produce, an excellent deli, bakery, lots of cheeses, and good selection of wines right in the store, and lots more! And, there is a large drugstore above the supermarket.
Along Pike Street, on the ground floor of our building, there are two great restaurants, a sandwich shop, and a hair salon. On the corner of Pike and Harvard is Ayutthaya Thai. If you like Thai food, you'll consider this a find. At the other end of the building is the Rosebud-- an American bistro menu, very moderately priced and very, very good! Between them, everyone absolutely loves the sandwiches at The Other Coast Cafe.

Warm, cozy and inviting
April 2, 2012
The apartment was perfectly located to downtown, and located in a neighborhood with all amenities within walking distance. The building manager was friendly and informative, and very accommodating for any needs or questions we had. The apartment was meticulously kept. We would definitely recommend this building to our friends and family.

visiting seattle and the st john's apts
June 23, 2011
i am a returning visitor to the st john's apts in the capital hill area of seattle. i was in a very large studio apt for one month ,mid may through mid june, 2011 the location could not have been better: about a block and a half from a bus stop to downtown seattle. three different buses were at this stop, so the wait was usually only 5 minutes. there was also a bus going to the university area across the street the bldg is across the street from a qfc grocery store with a drug store, dry cleaner and u.p.s. store all located above the grocery store the apt itself was in immaculate condition. the kitchen was quite large and equipped for someone living there fulltime the bed was more luxurious than my own at home they even provided a dvd player and dvd's for the large screen tv and offered not only books to read but maps, tourist touring brochures, take-out menus and more the bldg manager lives within the building so if anyone has any requests he is available and very helpful. as an example when i had extra heavy luggage and /or groceries he enlisted some younger residents to help me carry them into my apt they even provided extra light bulbs in short i hope to be able to return yearly as i just loved staying at the st john's apts

Wish I had stayed here!
August 15, 2009
Hi, I came really close to choosing this apartment on Capitol Hill, but instead I chose a really nice B&B in the University District. However, now that I look at the location location location of this property, I SO wish I had chosen it. It is in the perfect place so close to everything we wanted to do. We would have had much more flexibility if we had stayed here. Oh well...next time. --Judy from Wisconsin

Wonderful!
February 18, 2008
The accommodations were excellent and exceeded my expectations. The apartment was truly a "home away from home." Mark had stocked the kitchen with basic incregients and there also was a great supermarket across the street. I also cannot underestimate the comfort. The living room area was perfect for company- comfy couch and chair. In addition, the bedding in the master bedroom was exceptional- very good quality. I believe that Mark has thought of everything to make one's stay a extremely positive experience and I definitely will stay here again when traveling to Seattle.
Owner Supplied Testimonials

Comments:
Our stay at Saint John's Unit 304 exceeded our expectations. It was comforting and comfortable not to mention convenient to everything. Only a few steps away is an incredible gourmet grocery including an extensive wine selection, fresh fish and meats as well as a bakery and a Starbucks for all of our in home dining. Equally as close by you have a choice of Thai, American Bistro, Eastern Indian and an excellent Sandwich Shop for dining out. Up the street on Broadway are even more food and shopping options. The point is that I was overwhelmed by this sweet unit's proximity to an endless number of possibilites plus all that Seattle has to offer. The noise was a non-issue and I am a light sleeper. You may notice it a bit at first, but you will quickly get past it. The owner, Mark's hospitality, attention to details and our needs combined with the apartment's amenities, furnishings and decor were all perfect right down to the coordinating Martini glasses! Nothing was lacking except an excessive price tag! If he will have us, I know where we will be staying on all of our future trips to Seattle.
We also have a small, one room unit below 304. Here is what a recent tenant wrote after her stay: I just returned home from a four-week stay in #202, and loved it! The location is perfect for a city stay without a car~~it's a short walk downhill to downtown, a quick bus or taxi ride back up, and is surrounded by shops and restaurants, with a grocery store on the next block. The studio has everything I needed for an extended stay and was light and airy, and the owner and manager couldn't have been nicer.
