Description of the Seattle vacation home rental

Come spend the week at our fully furnished nautical home located a 10 minute walk from Alki Beach and a 1/2 block from a small secluded beach on Beach drive. The nautical theme begins as you enter the yard and you see the large flag pole made from an old boat mast. As you climb the stairs to the second floor you will notice the rails made from row boat oars. Throughout the house you will find pictures of various kinds of boats. Start off your day with coffee on your front or private back deck abutting a green bank. You can prepare your own breakfast in the fully furnished kitchen or take a short walk to Alki Beach to enjoy one of the many restaurants there. Relax in the living room with a good book or go explore around Seattle. After a day of taking in the sights come back to the captain's house to enjoy the sunset from the second story of our home. Sleep peacefully in one of the three bedrooms. Two bedrooms are on the second floor and one bedroom is on the first floor. The second floor bedrooms have a queen size bed and a twin bed. The first floor bedroom has a double bed. All linen and towels are provided.
A local caretaker of the home is available to answer any questions about the area or provide assistance with the home.

Our house is located a 10 minute walk to Alki Beach, 5 minute drive to Linclon park which has an outdoor olympic size salt water pool, a 20 minute drive to downtown Seattle and a 30 minute drive to the Seattle airport. Take a stroll to Alki beach to take in the sights and enjoy a meal at one of the many delicous restaurants there. If you are looking for a little more city life, you can drive or take the water taxi from Alki to downtown Seattle. Downtown Seattle offers many museums, art galleries, theaters, Pike place market and other intersting sites. For more rural sights, take a 25 minute ferry ride from West Seattle to Vashon Island. West Seattle has a small beach town feel, yet is very close to all the cultural offerings of the city of Seattle.

This house was a very comfortable place for us while we visited our grand children in West Seattle for a week. We enjoyed walking to the water's edge and hiking Beach Street to Alki Beach and the Alki Point light house. The house was in good condition and contained most everything it was advertised to have. We couldn't find the toaster but that wasn't a deal breaker. The grand children loved the house and looked forward to coming over for dinner. We enjoyed not having to go to restaurants for meals. We missed having a neighborhood store for odds and ends but we got what we needed at Safeway near Admiral and California. The best thing I could say about this property is that I would have no trouble going back to the same house on my next visit to West Seattle.

My family needed a home base for visiting friends/family and sightseeing. This place provided just what we needed. Close enough to where we wanted to go and also offered quiet solitude when we needed to rest. The recommended restaurants that were posted in the Captain's house were of great help.
