Want to escape the hustle and bustle by entering a little piece of heaven? Look no further than a lakeside home on the ever peaceful Peabody Pond, in the town of Sebago, Maine. Peabody is one of the cleanest and least developed lakes in southern Maine. It is two miles long, one mile wide, sixty five feet deep and the home of landlocked salmon, huge smallmouth bass, lake trout,brook trout and pickerel.If fishing isn't your thing, how about swimming and canoeing from our 25 foot dock, which is 25 feet from the house. This is a year round house with all the amenities, including heat and air conditioning, Directv with HD flat screen, and wi-fi.

Area Description

If you have kids who tire easily from water sports,less than an hour away there is Funtown Amusement Park, Aqua Boggan Land, Santa's Village, Storyland and Sixgun Village. For Mom, within an hour's distance there is outlet shopping in North Conway, NH and Freeport, ME, the home of L.L. Bean. If Dad gets tired of grilling, there are great restaurants in the nearby towns of Bridgton and Naples,as well as the famous restaurants of Portland, where you can also walk the historic Old Port. The immediate area is also riddled with hiking trails, including the closeby trails leading to Douglas Mountain and Bald Pate. On a clear day, you can see Canada from Douglas Mountain.

Peaceful and relaxing vacation on Peabody Pond, April 27, 2009

My family and I really enjoyed our week here on Peabody Pond. The lake is absolutely beautiful - the water is clear and warm. There is lots of wildlife, the stars at night are gorgeous and the fishing is great! The house was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. We had fresh seafood from Ken's Kove, hiked Bald Pate mountain, went blueberry picking and took a trip to LLBean. It was one of our best family vacations.
