Lakeside Cottage on Maine's Down East Coast

Stunning sunsets, the smell of balsam and the cry of loons...and I never had to leave the porch! Kill Kare embraced me from the moment I walked in the door. It is inviting, rich in history and has the best and biggest fireplace I have ever had the pleasure of falling asleep in front of. The location is unbeatable - sitting right on the lake but just minutes from the salt water and great hiking trails. The Larson's warmth and generous spirit were the icing on the cake!

Kill Kare Kamp is heavenly and it has been a real treat to get to know you and your family. Thank you for a memorable week.

What an incredible week - from the amazing house to the big dipper to seeing the bald eagle - time got away from us and we had a trip of a lifetime!...We had never experienced a lake house before and this was a wonderful retreat. Kill Kare has proven to be an ideal place for our family and the annual reunion to gather. its history and peaceful setting on Walker Pond was perfect for evenings on the porch, gathering inside around a cozy fire and just talking amongst ourselves about our history in this area. We saw the resident bald eagle, the family of otters and the loons on the Pond. This place has so much to offer. Thanks for letting us share this beautiful spot which your family has maintained on Walker Pond.

What a great place! I'd never been to this part of the US before and I can't wait to come back!! Loved every minute of everything!!

We all agreed that our time here was just what the doctor ordered! We spent almost all of our time on the amazing porch reading, talking, eating and listening to the loons. Our golden retriever LOVED the lake, the porch and the dock. None of us wants to leave and only wish we could stay longer...Thanks for a wonderful stay. We're already thinking about our stay here next year.

From lobsters and drinks with Cathy to exploring Acadia National Park - and everything in between - our stay at Kill Kare Kamp has been magical. The history of the house is fascinating and Cathy tells it with the pride it deserves. It has been fantastic to spend a week relaxing, eating and most importantly, making a wonderful new friend. Looking forward to returning.
