BEST PART IS WE ARE PET FRIENDLY!!!! LIMIT 2 SM-MED OR 1 LARGE DOG

Lovely Cottage off the Beaten Path
May 28, 2014
We were blessed to find The Cottage after deciding spur of the moment to head to Pigeon Forge for the Memorial Day weekend. Roberta made the reservation quickly and easily the day before we left. For the inexpensive price, I wasn't expecting too much, but was just happy to be able to bring along our dog who has difficulty walking these days because of arthritis. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, lovely and homey the cottage is and it was much roomier than the pictures online can show:) It is supplied with everything you will need for a short or long stay. It is off the beaten path, but only took us about 20 minutes to get to Dollywood on the back roads. I would definately recommend a GPS to find the Cottage and to navigate the backroads. If you are looking for privacy, peace and quiet then the Cottage is the place to go. My husband enjoyed the firepit and deck in the backyard too. I enjoyed to soft bed--like sleeping on a cloud. Thanks so much for sharing the Cottage with us!!! Donna, Greg & Garcia
Thank you so much for your review and also the pictures of your dog. So many guests have left doggie pictures that I have decided to do a "canine guest wall"!
Once again, thanks so much for your review as it is what we feel the Cottage gives. We have put our heart and soul into making it a pleasant experience. Occasionally we get a foolish complaint (the water) but most guests are happy.COME BACK ANYTIME

Peace and quiet
May 26, 2014
I was looking for a quiet, peaceful place for a get-away, and this cottage provided that in abundance. Lots of beautiful birdsong, especially in the evening while sitting in the rocker on the front porch. And, I found numerous wildflowers in the neighborhood. This is a humble cottage, not fancy nor luxurious. But, the kitchen and bath were adequate, there are ceiling fans, and the bed is on the "soft" side of comfort. The neighbors were quiet, very little traffic. Shady and cool most of the week I was there. It's far enough out in the country to be away from city traffic. There are backroads easily taken to get to the Great Smoky Mountains park. The owners are very nice, and live not far away so if there is a problem, they can help easily. *No internet access.*
worst cabin i ever stayed in.

the old saying" you get what you pay for"applies here. So beware! first off i wasn't expecting alot for 2 nights at $145.i do expect to be able to have clean water and be able to take a shower .The water smelled like rotten eggs even after i called the owner and he came and run the water for 10 minutes .the smell came back. sulfur in the well .so we had to get gallon jugs of water at walmart .for drinking and brushing our teeth etc. no showers for 2days . i didn't come to gatlinburgh to argue with someone over water problems or hear excuses ! or we won't let it happen again .i don't care about next time.My wife's" mothers day weekend" was ruined and i didn't have the money to rent somethaing else.also the stream that someone said in another review that was next to the house is just a wet weather ditch ! you should at least check to see if its rentable before you take someone's hard earned money !
This letter is in response to your hateful and sarcastic letter that you posted on VHR.
#1. We sent a master plumber down to fix the problem within 10 minutes of your call. If you were that unsatisfied you could have told my husband and he would have gladly refunded your money and been done with it. We are sending you back $50 for your drinking water purchases..

Vacation Home Rentals & The Cottage
March 16, 2014
Vacation Home Rentals was very quick to respond to our booking for This home. Everything is as stated. Private, clean, and so cozy. My daughter and I had a great time. The place was so clean and had everything we needed. Loved the little deck on the back. Had a fire pit, and a little stream next to the home. Very nice to fall asleep while hearing the sound of the stream. The bed was so comfortable that I did not want to leave it. The owners were so nice. Sorry Mr. Romer for waking you late one night to let us in. We locked our key inside. Thank you for helping us. Sincerely, Teresa.

We just got home from our vacation at the cottage. It was perfectly supplied with everything you would need. Very cozy and homey. The cities were not that far away and easy to get to. We ended up leaving something behind & luckily they were able to meet us back at the cottage! We had a great time here. Thank you so much!

What a sweet little home away from home 'cottage'. Everything you can think of is already supplied, you just have to bring some food! Thank you for sharing "The Cottage" with us..we hope to stay here again! It was so nice having our dogs be as comfy as we were..and not have to worry about taking them through hotel hallways, meeting strangers (they are nervous and protective), and having to deal with other dogs. Very charming cottage!
I needed thsi vacation! Thank you!

My son has been battling cancer for almost 2 years. I am a widow and haven't gone away in that time. On a whim I decided to take my 14 year old daughter, 5 year old grandson and myself away. We found this cabin the morning we left and reserved it. It was great. It's country chic and definitely off the beaten track (but really pretty well situated to everything). It's stocked with everything you could possible need. We loved the attractions in the area but I think the best part was watching the kids scout for bears, cook marshmallows over the fire, talk about the "old days"....inspired by discussions of decorations, well water, fireplaces, etc. It was an amazing and much needs short vacation. Thank you sharing your cabin with us! It helped me recharge my batteries!

A nice little getaway spot. We really enjoyed the Cottage. It is small and quaint. We were able to just chill, relax and enjoy life at a slower pace, but still able to easily drive into town for adventure.

We found the cottage very neat and tidy. The feeling was very homey and comfy. The added benefit of having a dishwasher, washer and dryer is GREAT! Everything worked and we enjoyed good nights sleep on the bed. Having the owners just around the corner made it very convenient.

Everything you could ask for. Nice private backyard where we could be with dog off leash (he doesn't run). Large kitchen with dishwasher, full sized range, 2 door fridge, washer/dryer. Quiet. Only 15 mins to Sevierville, 20 to Pigeon Forge, 25 to Gatlinburg. Clean, cute, affordable. No pet fees, cleaning fees, reservation fees. Cheaper and a thousand times nicer than motels and hotels in towns. A million tv channels on Direct TV this that is to your liking. Books, games, firering, bbq, inside fireplace. Cute, clean, reasonable. Nicest owners ever.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it is decorated in a country/antique theme and is just adorable. We felt right at home. It is sooo quiet and peaceful and close to every where we planned on going. The Clingman Dome which is at the Smokey Mountain National Park, it is absolutely amazing a must see for everyone it is so beautiful at the top of the Smokies. The only thing we would suggest is that they replace the bed and sofa they were not very comfortable. Thank you so much for the use of the cottage ,we will plan another stay next fall. Cheryl and Zig

The cottage's setting was wonderful. We loved the privacy and seclusion and how its nestled in the little hollow. The only negative we found was that some furniture items needs replacing or repairing. The sofa when sat on sank very badly after sitting on it just a few minutes and the glider rocker was broken. So we were unable to just comfortably sit back and watch TV for any extended time during our stay. A comfy sofa and equally comfortable chair would have made such a wonderful difference. Also shower needs repair. The pipe to shower head very loose. Dining table wobbly. Again, we loved the setting, serenity and privacy of the quaint little cottage. It just needs some updated furniture and minor repair here and there. But overall stay was still enjoyable.
Very cute, Very pleasant owner.

Everything was neat and clean. All linens and towels were provided. Once we made the trip in and out a few times, it was pretty easy to navigate to. Owner even let us check in EXTREMELY early which was so nice. The only negative I have to say about it is 1) the directions to it were so vague, it was farther away from pigeon forge than I originally thought and 2) the mattress on the bed was really "broken in".
This is the second complaint in 4 years that we have had about the bed, so we took it all apart and discovered that the box spring had broken in the middle. This caused the weakness in the middle. We have repaired it and put a foam topper over the mattress to make it more comfortable. This mattress was brand new (not a pillow top) when we opened the Cottage. We sincerly apologize for anyones inconvience.
We only give directions from the main road as it was would be practically impossible to guide guests in from their locations.

Affordable vacation rental
June 16, 2012
The Cottage had everything we needed - full-size kitchen appliances (even a dishwasher!), a washer and dryer, a bedroom, and living room. Plenty of room for the 2 of us and our small dog. It's a little out of the way but only about 20 minutes from Gatlinburg. Not as scenic as some cabins we've stayed at but a good value for the cost and nice and quiet.

Up the winding road to the little cottage. It's well marked and easy to find. I would not recommend driving in at night unless very familiar with the mountains of TN. The cottage was fully stocked with towels, pots and pans, microwave, 1 Tv in the living room, coffee pot, iron and board, washer, dryer, small 2 seat dining table and a vaccum. Since they do not charge a cleaning fee you leave it the way you found it. It was very clean and no odors even though they let you bring your pet. You are about 20-30 minutes from all the action of Pigeon Forge and Walmart. Overall a very nice stay, only recommendation is a new mattress for the bedroom. We stayed a week and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. This cottage is nice for a couple wanting to get away to the mountains and not spend a lot of money. Thanks for letting us bring our dog.

Everything we were Looking for!
October 8, 2011
What an amazing cottage. Everything we wanted and needed for a peaceful escape to the mountains. It was so accomidating and so affordable it was truly a blessing for us. Great place for kids to run around and play without worry and they loved the campfire and marshmellows. At bedtime the kids fell asleep in front of the fireplace, all wrapped up and cozy. It was so quiet we could sit on the porch and listen to the sound of the leaves fall off the trees. Peace of mind and great memories, the cottage will definitly be our next vacation destination. Thank you so much!!!

We went to the International Show and Gift Exposition in the Smokies for buisness. We shopped for my little shop till we couldn't shop any longer!!! It was so nice to be able to come back after a long day, to a clean quaint cottage where we could just relax infront of a roaring fire, glass of wine, and relect on the day. There was everything that we needed right there in the cabin. We hope to come back and stay again.

Weekend at the Cottage

We spent the weekend at the Cottage, and desired a quiet, private location. It was perfect! We had all the amenities we desired, it was clean an well cared for, and the owners were very pleasant to work with.

This cottage was just what I needed. Feeling tired from work and dreading vacation with 2 grandchildren. After getting to the cottage and relaxing on the porch I was ready to go. My grandchildren loved watching the lightening bugs in the back yard and roasting marshmallows. I can't wait to come back again. Thank you for sharing your special cottage with us!
