Description of the Shapleigh vacation guesthouse rental

Enjoy your summer vacation at our private island get-away. This three bedroom cape has all the comforts of home (internet, cable, washer & dryer) in a peaceful, tranquil setting. Island living includes ferry transportation and beach rights. Rentals are currently available -- but last year our cottage sold out! Security deposit required.

After Labor Day, the cottage is available for a relaxing fall weekend.

This retreat is located one hour from the NH Seacoast, 45 minutes from Portland, and two hours from Boston.

Area Information

Town of Sanford is 12-15 minutes for grocery shopping, gas and restaurants, including Hannafords, Shaws and a Super Walmart. Sanbornville, NH is only 8 minutes with mini grocery store, restaurants & other conveniences.

Day trips to all the popular tourist spots; L.L. Bean in Freeport, Portland for excellent restaurants, shopping. White Mountains in New Hampshire (Storyland). Quaint little ocean front towns of Wells, Ogunquit, Kittery and Portsmouth, NH are drivable and feature shopping, cobblestone streets and fine dining.

Treasure Island cottage review

We really loved this cottage and had a great time there. The cottage is beautiful, in great condition and full of all the amenities of home. The island itself is a wonderful place to stay. Roxanne is really nice and a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

The cottage was beautiful. Very cozy. It offered at lot for the price. My family enjoyed it. The kids want to return again. The island is very nice and so are the other folks who are on the island. Stores and shops are not to far away as well as beaches offsite.

A:Yes. The house is on Treasure Island in Square Pond.

Q:Is there transportation to and from the island?

A:Yes. There is free ferry service to and from the island all day, every day.

Q:How many houses are on the island?

A:There are seventy houses on the island. It is a very small community. There are no commercial buildings (store, gas station, etc. on the island).

Q:Are vehicles allowed on the island?

A:No. Parking is provided in the community lot. The island is a walking island.

Q:What makes the island unique?

A:There is a pair of nesting eagles the make their home on the island every year. Other wildlife such as owls have been spotted including last year (2012). The house is located in a very private setting within close proximity to the beach and water. Inside and outside walking paths are available to explore the island. The sandbar is a great place to hang out and swim.
