Description of the Shapleigh vacation home rental

This is our own private house with a 100 foot beach frontage.Sandy bottom, Shallow to deep. There are two porches top and bottom floors for gazing at the lake. Dock, fire pit, large side yard for activities, horse shoes ,bachi ball, basketball hoop, hammock, gas grill, long driveway for plenty of parking,the garage is conected to the house and has a picnic table for rainy days, extra refridgerator for extra items.The lake is a private lake with no public boat launch. the lake is spring fed and very clean.

Area Information

There is a small convient store/ gas station sells pizza and subs 5 min away. larger grocery store (Hannaford) 20 min.away. Blueberry picking 15 min away. (Blueberry Hill) Portland is 45 min and Boston 2hours. Movie theaters in Sanford 20 min away.Live entertainment restaurant 15 min. (Big Daddys)

There is No boat slip but you may bring a canoe or use our 2 kayaks and peddle boat for lake usage. There is a sand bar in the center of the lake with a volleyball net for all ages to enjoy. Good fishing! Beautiful sunsets!

Beautiful beach, house w/everything, great owners

This is a super spot on a lovely spring fed lake, unusually warm for Maine because it has a sandy bottom so its great for swimming. And this place has its own private beach. Cool! Silver Lake is ringed by the foothills of the western mountains of Maine and there's some great short hikes in the area, local farms, orchards and two great coffee shops within easy driving distance. The "corner store" has fresh muffins in the morning and all the basics as well as gas (at a reasonable price) and ice. You can enjoy your morning cup on the upper deck off the master suite listening for loons and your evening cocktail on the lower deck watching the kids roast marshmallows in the fire pit. The homeowners have thought of everything and the house is clean, comfortable, and freshly decorated with modern appliances. We couldn't have been happier!
