Description of the Sisal vacation cottage rental
Beach-front house in Sisal, Yucatan. Sisal is a typical
fishing village, is a nice place to escape from the city and relax.
Located 55km from Merida, 1hr driving.
The house is one bedroom with two double beds, a spacious kitchen, living room, bathroom.
It's 120 square meters.
Beach in Sisal is wide, there are about 110yards of sandy beach between the cottage and the sea.
There is regular bus service between Sisal and Merida.
A few canadians have discovered Sisal and are chossing it as a living place for winter.
Refrigerator, microwave, coffemaker, fans on ceiling, electric shower, the room has air conditioning.
Satellite TV. Internet access available, bringing your own laptop.
Furniture is like you see on the pictures, rustic and made of strong wood.
A futton is on the living room for extra visitors.
What you can expect:
Quiet place for relax and enjoy peace and tranquility, most of the time birds and sea waves are the only sound you can hear.
Good fresh seafood- being a fishing village its easy to get good food either for cook or already prepared for you.
Sunshine- lots of it.
Scuba diving, snorkeling.
Contact with nature- Sisal is not a spoiled place, you can have close contact with untouched nature, flamingoes and other varieties of birds. There are crocodiles that you can see in the wild.
The bedroom has air conditioning.
What not to expect:
Not crowds around, just a few locals from Merida on weekends.
Not superstores in town, there are small stores in the village where you can do your grocery.
Since Sisal is not known by tourists, there aren't structured activities, you do everything on your own.
Temperature is 30C at noon, goes down to 18C early in the morning in winter, humidity is high most of the time.
English is an exotic language here, so don't expect anyone speak such language, be ready to practice your spanish or maya language.
Sisal is a very safe place, practically there´s not crime in town.

Beatiful view of the gulf coast, lots of birds, flamingoes, seagulls, etc. Quiet place, fishing village.
Good and affordable seafood, Sisal is also a very safe place, no crime in town.
Internet service optional provided by Telcel, through a USB modem you can connect to internet paying $400 pesos per week or $650 pesos per month, a deposit of 1,400 pesos is required which will be returned at check out.
