Description of the Skaneateles vacation cottage rental

This is a very private cottage on the west side of Skaneateles Lake about 10 miles south of the village of Skaneateles. We have about 800 feet of lakefront nestled in a wooded area. The cottage is newer and very nicely decorated. It features wood floors, soaring ceilings, modern kitchen, granite counters with all the anemities. All linens are supplied. All you need it your bathing suit!! Call for any questions. Also, reduced rates for spring and fall weeks and weekends after Labor Day.

Area Information

Skaneateles Lake is the third cleanest lake in the world. The views are incredible, both from the cottage and the surrounding roadways. The village of Skaneateles offers many restaurants from casual family friendly to upscale. There are many gift and antique shops as well.

Too Good To Be True!

When we saw this listing we couldn't believe it because the pictures and description offered just what we were looking for at a reasonable rate and it was still available for the May long weekend. Seemed too good but it was true! This cottage was even better than we'd imagined! We three couples cycled and hiked then returned each day to the spacious and charmingly decorated cottage, sipped drinks on the dock, then prepared delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Will definitely book again. One word of warning - the mile long drive along the gravel lake lane and then the narrow winding drive downhill to the property can be a bit tricky to negotiate.

Family getaway

The most beautiful lake on earth has to be Skaneateles! And the Coopers cottage was a wonderful family getaway. The cottage could easily accommodate 10 - 15 people but it was just my husband and I and two children. The decks have spectacular views and you can't get much closer to the water. The Coopers were very generous in allowing us to use their canoe and two kayaks. The rope swing from the hillside into the lake was a favorite with my husband and the kids. And we went fishing right off the dock and had quite a few catches. Overall it was a wonderful place for family time. We spent our days in the water and our evenings on the deck! Would love to go back again!
