Cabin/cottages on Huron Bay, Upper Peninsula of MI

At Gabe's Summer Suite Cottages, you can choose from among 2 clean, comfortable "Northwoodsy" decorated housekeeping cottages or a cabin--all facing the lake on 200' of Huron Bay frontage with plenty of space afforded each. You'll enjoy many of the comforts of home, such as well-equipped kitchens, flat screen satellite tvs, and Wi-Fi. (No in-house phones, however.) All linens, bedding, and kitchen towels are provided, along with adequate initial supplies of paper toweling, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, salt & pepper, etc., as a convenience to our guests. (Bath towels and washcloths, however, are not provided, unless guests are using air transportation.) No pets permitted. Outdoor amenities are: decks, patio sets, umbrellas, chairs, benches, a hammock, picnic tables, charcoal grills, 2 firepits, generous supply of firewood, games, a permanent dock, 2 rustic swings, a fish cleaning stand, and use of paddle boat. Booking all 3 units among families or friends, has become an annual tradition for some of our guests. Regardless, however you stay, you're in for some fun, recreation, relaxation, natural beauty, wildlife--it's all around you here! We're located on Park Road, 16 miles N.E. of L'Anse in Skanee, on Huron Bay of Lake Superior, in pure Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Rates for the upcoming 2013 season have now been determined--please inquire for availability, deposits required, minimum stays, and exact rates, as they differ according to unit reserved, how many persons will be staying, and length of stay. Sorry, we are not equipped to accept credit card or online payments. Opening for the season on May 14th or earlier, if demand dictates; closing probably by Nov. 2nd.

There are plenty of things to do, discover and explore such as swimming, boating, fishing, pontooning, kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing, water skiing, wind surfing, sailing, sun bathing, driftwood and rock hounding right here on or near the lake; also berry picking, mushroom hunting, bird and eagle watching, star gazing, biking, all-terraining and hiking the backroads, seeking out historic sites, scenic area waterfalls and rivers, Mount Arvon, Bald Mountain, a historic museum, town hall, school, church, and cemeteries, a slate quarry, rustic parks, seeking out wildlife such as deer, moose, and bear; visiting L'Anse, Bishop Baraga Shrine, the Hilltop Restaurant for a famous sweet roll; making day visits to Houghton/Hancock, Michigan Tech and the Mineral Museum, Quincy Mine, Calumet, the Keweenaw with the very unique Jampot for baked goods and sweets, Copper Harbor, Brockway Mtn. Drive and Ft. Wilkins, Ontonagon and the Porcupine Mountains, Big Bay and Marquette, and much, much more.
