Big and Beautiful but Isolated

The house is absolutely beautiful and large. Plenty of room for our 5 adults and 5 children. There were actually more beds than listed in the description. Upstairs there was a queen bed with attached bath, another bedroom with queen bed, hall bath, small room with bunk beds, and another room with a queen and full bed. Large closets and plenty of storage everywhere. Plus a small covered porch with chairs and tables. Downstairs was a 1/2 bath, huge laundry room, eat-in kitchen with counter stools, table and chairs. Plenty of dishes, appliances and cookware. Open Living room features sofa, loveseat, easy chair, dining area with table and chairs. There's a TV in most rooms too! Central air and ceiling fans kept us cool. There's a large, covered deck with hot tub, grill, picnic table and additional chairs. There's an outside shower that is great for cleaning up and the 2-car garage has plenty of beach chairs and fishing equipment. The biggest negative was the isolation and lack of swimmable water. You are on the bay and its very rocky and muddy, plus many people let their dogs run free and do not clean-up after them. The road in and out floods during some high tides, so plan accordingly. It's a long drive back to the highway and any form of civilization (about 20-30 minutes). Rehoboth Beach took an hour to get to during traffic, 45 minutes without. There's plenty of stores a few miles down the highway and some great produce stands. Also, watch out for the deer when driving to and from the house! The neighbors were all very friendly, but watch out for the hungry horse flies! All in all we had a great time, but would probably not return due to the location. The kids preferred a cleaner beach with waves, but the adults enjoyed the quiet.

We had an awesome time!! The house was great for me and my sons with their families. Loved being next to the Bay but hated sharing with horsecrabs & the horse flies. We were centerly located for all we wanted to do. The week went way too fast & not long enough. Was surprised when the high tide went over the road. Owner & his brother was informative & helpful. Quite & very peaceful--got much needed relaxation. Wish we could have done more or tried out more resturants. Kids & dogs loved the place & the room to run. .Nice & clean
