Description of the Smoke Hole vacation cabin rental

New log cabin on the banks of the South Fork Potomac River! Located in the DNR stocked, catch-and-release section of Smoke Hole Canyon. We are the only NEW cabin with modern conveniences on this side of the mountain! Sit on our expansive deck and watch the hatch come off the river! We feature 2 bedrooms and expansive loft. The loft has a bathroom and queen bed. The other bedrooms have a queen and 2 twins. Fully furnished Kitchen includes all untensils, blender, toaster, crock pot, microwave, etc. Gas and charcoal grill on deck. Gas fireplace for cozy nights, plus largescreen tv, assorted movies, and Directv. Lots of outside seating on deck and expansive porch. Besides being a prime trout-smallmouth bass fishery, the Canyon is known for it's eagle and deer populations, swimming, tubing, and canoeing. We are minutes from Seneca Rocks, Smoke Hole Caverns, and easy driving to Canaan Valley, Dolly Sods, Cass Scenic Railroad and other great WV adventures! Our cabin is surrounded by the Monangahela National Forest...so your privacy is ensured.

We are in the middle of the Monangahela National Forest, on the banks of the South Fork Potomac River.

• Lodging Tax: WV sales tax will be added to rental fee
   
• Deposits: A rental agreement must be signed and returned within ten (10) days after making the reservation. If the signed agreement is not returned after ten days, your reservation may be canceled without notice unless prior arrangements have been made. A deposit to hold your reservation is also required and must be included with this signed rental agreement. The deposit required is 50% of the total cost of the reservation. The balance due for the entire reservation and a $200.00 damage deposit must be
   
• Other Fees: received at least 14 days prior to checkin. Only personal checks made payable to owners are accepted at this time. We have no problem returning deposits, but please note that a full inventory of cabin contents is done prior to and after you leave. WV sales tax (6%)will be added to final rental amount.

 Amazing Cabin!, September 29, 2009

This cabin is gorgeous- inside and out! So nicely furnished! You feel comfortable the moment you walk in the door! The view was stunning! We hiked Big Bend one day, and then Senecca Rocks the next. Each night we made a fire, twice by the house, and one night by the river. We ate all of our meals outside and enjoyed the beauty of our surroundings. As soon as we left, we started to talk about when we might be able to return! It was the perfect retreat for us! Thank you so much! Tamara and Chuck

Once of the prettiest areas in WV! And the cabin is absolutely gorgeous. It's finished out as well as a cabin can be. The owners left no stone unturned when it comes to luxury and covering all the bases with what is needed to feel at home. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to relax in the beautiful environs of West Virginia's finest area. The fishing is always very good. Jerry & Sharon Andrews.

There were 6 of us, 4 Adults and 2 Children. My granddaughter said the first day "this is heaven." She is nine years old. We had a marvelous time. The cabin is spectacular and feels so homey. We mainly just lounged around the cabin and the river. The kids woke up in the morning asking "Can we go to the river now." We all fished, rafted, hiked a little, enjoyed the wild life and sat around the firepit. We didn't want to leave. We will be going back.

Absolutely an amazing cabin! Beautifully appointed, amazing views, completely comfortable but totally luxurious! Just sitting and listening to the water going over the rocks was more relaxing than I would have ever realized. We haven't been out of the cabin for 12 hours and my family is already trying to figure out when we can go back. It is the perfect place for a week long vacation or a "get a way weekend" - my parents celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary while we were there. We played board games in the evening and it was GREAT to have the time together - without anyone texting or emailing or playing a video game. Fishing was good. The kids spent some time wading in the calm waters of the river. I saw the otter, lots of hawks, LOTS of deer, NO SNAKES and many other small game animals. The detail that has been put into this cabin puts it into a category of its own. Thanks for such a great vacation!

 

 Great house with an amazing location, March 9, 2009

I rented the house the first week in March with 5 friends and we had an amazing time. The fishing and hiking were incredible and the house was great for 6. The wrap around porch is also a great feature. The area is absolutely gorgeous, even without the leaves on the trees. I highly recommend this house for anyone, its great for outdoor activities or just hanging out indoors playing board games.
