We have stayed at the cabin so many times we lost count. We love it so much in the area with the solitude, the good people, the fishing, the scenery and opportunity to live in tranquility. The cabin is immaculate, includes everything you need to cook; it comes with a great washer and dryer for those that stay a while. The view from the wrap-around porch is stunning and it is what I look forward to the most. If you are looking for a beautiful view, clean and modern accommodations then you found the right place.

When we arrived the cabin was warm and cozy. Luckily we traveled during the holidays and the cabin was all decked out with lovely Christmas decorations. The cabin is perfect for four travelers equipped with linens, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, and kitchen utensils. The only thing you need to bring are personal items! The view from the deck is panoramic of the mountains. The innkeepers are delightful and friendly. They do their best to provide you with everything you need. They even checked on us several times since we did not have cell service. We borrowed their phone to make calls, and they even shoveled our driveway and walk way. I can't wait to go back! One thing to note is only AT&T works and there is no land line in the cabin. Otherwise it is a perfect country getaway in beautiful WVA!

We have stayed in a lot of cabins in this area threw out 10 yrs, including Smoke Hole & Harmans but this cabin was the Best. It was absolutely beautiful down to all the details. Furniture, rugs, pictures, etc. It made you feel at home. They even had a Christmas tree and other Christmas decorations up. We will definitely be back!

Let me start by saying the owners, Mr. And Mrs. Kimble, are the most friendly, polite, and welcoming people I have ever met. The cabin is brand new and beautiful. It is truely a place to relax and unwind. We spent most of our time on the porch watching deer pass right in front of us and looking at the breathtaking view of the hills and mountains. We have found a place to stay when we come to WV.

We found the cabin clean and friendly, a true welcome home. It was set up for all our needs. We do plan on going back and stay longer. It was a nice place to relax " a do nothing lay back'" kind of place! The scenery was nice here in the summer, but fall, it would be a nice place to be to see the leaves changing. The owners are so friendly, I felt like I knew them as family or long lost friends.

We had a wonderful visit staying at the Potomac Overlook cabin! It's a beautiful cabin and The Kimbles have put a lot of thought and hard work into it! The area was also very nice to visit. We had not been to this area before and enjoyed it! I'd also like to mention the cabin is by itself. Not like other places that feel like a cabin in a "subdivision." The Kimbles are very delightful and friendly and make you feel right at home! They also provide you with information on the area including the MOE FATZ ice cream parlor which is a must-go-to kind of place! Thanks for the great time which included fishing, site seeing and a little nostalgia at the old drive in theater in Franklin! We loved it all!

I can't believe we left

The cabin itself is so nice and new made of all wood and well furnished to give it a real comfortable home feeling. We stayed 3 nights and we had a great time setting out by the fire pit at night and burning up lots of dry wood that was provided. The porch has a view of the Potomac and with the surround county side it makes for quite a peaceful setting ,And then the fishing, with one of the best trout streams in the eastern US so close just a 1/4 mile drive to smoke hole canyon and only about 12 miles to Franklin that also has some great places to fish I caught all the fish I wanted and then some I can believe WE LEFT Hope to stay with the Kimble’s again soon Thanks Ed & Sharon

The Cabin is wonderful it is everything they say it is..The owners are very friendly and available. So if you are in the area please rent the Potomac Overlook Cabin you will be glad yo did it.... A group of us have been coming over to fish the Smoke Hole/Franklin area for 20 years. The only thing now to match the fabulous fishing is this cabin. The owners have left nothing to chance; it is simply wonderful, and it is on the river. We will schedule a year in advance to get this place. Everything is perfect.

Fishing with my Dad

This year I had the opportunity to take my 73 year old Dad fishing and we chose to visit Smoke Hole. Our cabin was absolutely beautiful, pristine views of the Potomac, gorgeously decorated with an outdoorsy feel. The amenities were wonderful and with comfortable beds. There was a fire Fire pit on the property, a cleaning station outside, and was close to prime fishing areas where several trout were caught. There was a local store within minutes, just in case you forgot something. Being a West Virginia native I was quite happy that the mattresses were actually made locally. The view was breathtaking and on one particular morning as we were watching the sun come up, we had the opportunity to see a bald eagle fly over the cabin. The owners were very friendly and available for questions and concerns. I will certainly visit the Potomac Overlook at Smoke Hole again.
