Description of the Snoqualmie Pass vacation cabin rental
This wonderful all year round cabin at Snoqualmie Pass offers a true feeling of what it is like to be in the mountains. Views of Gold Creek, Mt. Margaret and the Ramparts. (Summit East) is perfect for putting on your skis and skiing down to the chair! It doesn't get much better than that. Ski back for lunch, warm up, watch a movie and head back out to the slopes.
The home offers two bedrooms with queen and king size beds. There is a loft that sleeps three to four and a fold-out couch in the living room.
Downstairs in the daylight basement is a private bedroom with a king size bed, a media room and a large bathroom with shower, sink and laundry room.
The entry way/mud room is perfect for ski storage and other snow related gear such as show shoes, cross country skis, etc.
There is a deck located in the front of the home to catch the afternoon sun and a deck off the living room for morning sun. Have a glass of wine and look for the alpine glow at the end of the day.
Four ski areas are located at Snoqualmie Pass - cross over trails and shuttle buses make it easy to get back and forth. Cross country skiing headquarters is located at the lodge at Hyak. Fantastic snowshoeing across the way at Gold
This location is truly one of the finest at Snoqualmie Pass. Close proximity to the Iron Horse Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail for summer hiking or biking. The Snoqualmie Tunnel is just down at the bottom of the hill open during the summer month. Suncadia, Swiftwater (try the sea bass) and Roslyn are only 25 minutes away eastward on I-90.
Treat yourself to a mountain getaway and enjoy these memories in the years to come. You will love it. Our regulars come back every year.
All wheel drive highly recommended during the winter months due to snow!
Area Information
The views of Gold Creek and the surrounding mountains and valleys is phenomenal. If you are lucky enough to be here in February / March, the migrating birds are entertaining. The rental comes with a filled bird feeder during all seasons!
The Snoqualmie Pass area features four ski areas. In the early days we referred to these areas as Ski Acres, Alpental, Snoqualmie and Hyak. Now they are named Snoqualmie West, Snoqualmie Central, Snoqualmie East also known as Hyak and then there is Alpental! Hyak is located just off of I-90 on Exit 54. It is the headquarters for cross country skiing in addition to providing access to the Iron Horse Trail that will take you west from the mountain to the Sound or east to Spokane.
Hyak is a diamond in the rough. The crowds are less and the tree skiing, snowboarding and beginner trails are sweet. The exciting news about Hyak is the new chair that now takes you up to the top of the Hill and makes Hidden Valley now accessible after about 30+ years. The slope face has been recarved and provides a fun run with good vertical drop and curves. Snowmobiling is allowed in close vicinity but you should do your own research.
The summer and fall is truly exceptional when you are in the mountains. Don't think that winter is the "in" season. There are no better days than the days of summer and fall up here. The east side of the state is just down the road and offers many sites and wineries to visit.
Come up to the mountain and enjoy what it has to offer.
It is going to be a great season this year with lots of snow.
Catch the shuttle from the bottom parking lot to get to all the other ski areas!

Awesome cabin!!

March 8, 2013

What a great cabin! You can tell the moment that you walk in that the owner's really care about this cabin and want you to feel at home! Walked in to an emaculate cabin with fresh flowers on the table! Beds were amazing and plenty of room! Highly recommend!!!!!!!

Beautiful cabin with stunning views

February 12, 2013

Our group of 8 stayed here in February, and couldn't have been more happy with our experience. The cabin itself was wonderful, huge, clean and in the most perfect location. We brought 2 little ones with us and were able to play in the snow and build a sledding ramp right outside the door. Thanks Linda for helping us set up a great getaway!

Better than expected

January 30, 2013

Beautiful cabin, the pictures don't do it justice. We found it clean with lots of amenities. The "cabin manual" was very helpful and answered most of our questions. We had young kids and were able to sled all day literally from the front door. I would recommend this place to anyone. In fact we are considering coming back in the summer.

The Perfect Getaway!!!

January 10, 2013

If you're looking to escape the real world and re-charge your batteries this is the place for you!!! Warm, inviting and cozy are some of the first thoughts you will think when entering the cabin! We stayed here 6 days and 5 nights and loved every minute of it! This cabin is spacious, very clean, has a well equipped kitchen, bathrooms look to be just re-modeled, and the master bed feels like sleeping in heaven. If you like to ski the slopes are within minutes and there are even sleds underneath the front porch. We brought our two dogs who could not get enough of the snow!! Linda was very easy and a pleasure to work with. We will definitely be visiting again!

Perfect winter get away.

December 18, 2012

Such a beautiful place. The hostess made sure our every possible need was met and even brought a sled for our little one to use. We felt right at home right away and wanted for nothing. We were minutes from the slopes and plan to go back during the summer time.

Great View !!!

October 9, 2012

Sitting in the cabin, at the dining table or just sitting on the couch or even in the kitchen, it's hard to focus on anything but the view. Every morning the chickadees and the stelar jays and our buddy "Charlie" the squirrel are out and about on the deck waiting for you. We enjoyed the summer solitude your cabin offered. Lots of peace and quiet. Easy on and off the main highway. Was fun playing golf at Sun Country and SunCadia. Visited Cle Elum and Roslyn, Ellensburg and Yakima. Had no idea there are so many vinyards, great wine tasting. IWe are looking forward to a winter trip to take advantage of the ski in, ski out location of the cabin. The telescope was put to good use, between looking at the stars at night and trying to locate deer and goat on the mountains during the day. Over all it was a great stay. It's also nice having the owners right there at the bottom of the hill. We look forward to our next trip to the N.W. We know where were staying.

Owner's reply:

Thank you Linda and Scott. We wanted to let you know that we now have internet at the Cabin! After owning the cabin for 18 years we decided it was time. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the most fund things to do at your vacation rental?
A: Downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, bird watching, relaxing, and cooking!
Q: What about the snow?
A: This cabin sits up on the hill at upper Hyak. If it snows you should have four wheel drive. The roads are cleared by Kittitas County and they have large snow removal equipment. Sometimes they don't show up on the weekends. All cars are to be off the road when they come. There is a parking spot for one car in front of the cabin. All other visitors should drop off their personal possessions and then park down in the parking lot. Owner will assist in snow removal but a snow shovel is provided for the back deck. There is a snow blower at the cabin. Please bring snow boots. There are two pairs of snowshoes provided. Snow can turn to ice so please bring appropriate footwear.
Q: What about the garbage?
A: Please place all garbage out on Tuesday evening for Wednesday 6:30 a.m. pick up. Owner will pick up garbage for you. It is fantastic if you place recycle items in separate bags. Plus, if you produce an over abundant amount of garbage (which a lot of parties do) please feel free to take a bag of recycle home with you.
Q: Hyak hours?
A: The ski area known as Hyak but also referred to as Snoqualmie East is typically only open on the weekends. During the Christmas holiday it is open, snow dependent. You can ski out from the cabin to the slope. At the bottom of the slope there is a shuttle that will pick you up and take you to the other ski areas. A large percentage of the workers live in the Hyak area so the shuttle is running even when the ski area is not open. There is a cross over trail that take you to Silver Fir at Central, Best to use this when the ski area is open on the weekends. Bit of a hike when it isn't. THE SHUTTLE DOES NOT COME UP THE HILL TO THE CABIN.
