Our cabin is available from approximately Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The Kenai River offers WORLD CLASS fishing, and Trout and Silver salmon can also be caught in late August/early September which is highly recommended as the crowds are gone and the wildlife viewing for Moose and Bear are spectacular!!! You may also consider taking in a float trip down the scenic and magnificent Kenai River in the summer months, and if you are looking to "HOOK INTO A KING SALMON"(the record King was 95 lbs)there are several river guides who provide charters for this outstanding fishing. Homer, AK is also a popular fishing place. Record Halibut can be caught and are very tasty!!

Reviews for this vacation cabin rental in Soldotna, Alaska
Sweet cabin in the woods!!
July 11, 2013
Very comfy cabin overlooking the Kenai River. A real treat to sit on the deck and drink your coffee overlooking the river. Super nice landlady - awesome 4th of July food and friends. Large loft with room for the whole family plus futon on the 1st fl for the non stairs person. It was very relaxing and truly level to the river where fishing from the platforms was comfy.
As good as it gets

Everything about Ken Kenai Kabin is perfect: 1. river access - right at the confluence of the Kenai and Funny River 2. Fishing space - enough for a party of 6 to all fish comfortably and be on the fish 3. Cabin - plenty of space, easy to clean and maintain, all the amenities without any extra crap, well furnished for up to 7 to sleep 4. Owners - very easy to deal with, accommodating, and trustworthy. Great people 5. Best cajun/blackened salmon I've had in recent memory (thanks Donna!) Over all, we were unbelievable happy . . . Oh yeah, we caught more fish than we know what to do with. Look forward to next year and possibly coming for a silver trip.
week of fishing

Our host, Donna and Ken were the best ever host at a rental property. We had such a great time we are going to go back next year. The cabin was extremely clean and well maintained. The fishing was great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Ask Donna about the "blackend salmon", it was awesome.

Best vacation spot on the river
January 11, 2011
This is one of my family's favorite places to vacation. My daughters love the river and the coziness of the cabin. The views are incredible. Nothing better than waking up and watch the river roll by. The fishing is amazing and right out the front door. If you want to experience fishing in Alaska, I whole heartedly recommend this cabin.

My husband and I made our first trip to Alaska in 2009. It was amazing!! I'm not much of a fisherman but my husband is. He fished everyday and had the time of his life! We even went to Homer so he could Halibut fish. There are cute little shops in Soldotna and surrounding areas too. (Expect slightly higher prices on every day items, but worth every penny.) It was so nice to escape the Texas heat! We saw bald eagles and bear tracks right by the river. This is nature at it's best...with indoor plumbing. We are hoping to return in 2011.
Catching a salmon was a dream!!

WOW! I grew up fishing for Rainbow Trout....small ones....compared to the ones in Alaska. When I first hooked into a Red Salmon....I was shocked! It was so much fun catching these huge fish...and reeling them in. They are HUGE compared to what I am use to catching!!! I was amazed that they run right in front of where we were sleeping!!! Days were spent fishing....afternoons with happy hour on the rivers edge....and fires in the evenings. We did a HALIBUT CHARTER out of Homer, AK one day and caught some huge halibut. Now those are HUGE FISH!! Upon arrival, we decided to opt for Donna's cooking and we were glad we did!! She should have been a gourmet chef!!! She had some incredible recipes for our salmon & halibut and they were out of this world!! There vacation was definately one of our best ones yet!!! We enjoyed the cabin, too!! It was very nice, had a loft upstairs with 4 beds and the futon downstairs was very comfortable. We were very comfortable, had the most gorgeous views out our window and enjoyed ourselves so much. We plan on coming back and want to raft the river. We saw some rafters up river and it looked like great fun. A friend of ours was staying at another Kenai River vacation rental and stopped by ours, and said ours was "outstanding" compared to his. He threw his line in....and was successful!! Thank you so much for opening up your house to us....this was a vacation to remember!!!

Relax and Fish
January 5, 2011
I went to the cabin on the Kenai for the Silver run in the fall. The fishing is world class, the proprietors are world class, the accommodations are inviting, and the area is majestic. Imagine fishing great salmon runs and after a great day with the rod and reel sitting by a firepit with friends reminiscing about a great day on the river. A must to do on anyone's list. I'll be back. Petro.

This is arguably the best fishing in the world. i have never experienced fishing like this before. we were fortunate to have our host ken to show us the best fishing holes and techniques. we were able to limit out 2 days. it was incredible. so good in fact that when i found out they had an opening in august i jumped at the chance and fished for 8 more days with phenomenal results. be the envy of your friends when they pick you up at the airport and you have 5 fish boxes packed full of fresh kenai river fish. if you have never had fresh salmon this is some of the most incredible tasting salmon you will have. if you get a chance have them smoke some up for you as well "yum" we have already booked the cabin again for next year and i am bringing the whole family as there is plenty of room for everyone. thank you ken and shannon for sharing your kenai river cabin with us
A great time to visit our Kenai River place is in mid August for the Silver Salmon run!!! We have had a great run the last couple of years, and we just reduced our rates for 2012!!! Hurry, don't miss out on one of Kenai's best kept secrets!!!
