Just five minutes from Sonoma's Town Square is the private gated estate of Runningwood. With more than 10 acres nestled in the heart of wine country, Runningwood neighbors some of Sonoma's finest wineries and is just minutes from Napa. The estate house was built in 1994 and has since enjoyed an elite group of guests beginning with Warner Brothers premier stars who stayed at Runningwood while filming a new Warner Brothers production. Since then the property has been used to host and entertain high profile wedding ceremonies and fundraising events. Runningwood is a private and gated property with restricted access for security and media control. The property is available to rent for a wide spectrum of events.

Area Description

Located only 45 minutes north of San Francisco, Sonoma Valley is best known for its award-winning wines and wineries. It is also home to numerous small farms, fabulous Wine Country restaurants, unique historical sites and attractions, beautiful scenery, wonderful shops and boutiques, world-class spas and a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere.

Required Stay: 3 night minimum
Deposits: A refundable deposit is required to hold reservations. The full rental amount (in addition to the deposit) is due no later than 3 weeks prior to the arrival date. All balances must be paid before any due date or your reservation will be canceled by default. The deposit will be held until the premise has been inspected and deemed in good order, and consumption of utilities has been determined for appropriate charge per the terms outlined in the Rental Agreement. My family & I had an amazing trip to Sonoma, the house and owner allowed it to be extra special. No words can express the feel of the house and Oh my God,, the view. We felt as if we traveled across the ocean to Italy. From the moment we booked or reservation, to the moment we departed, the owner of the property was available to provide us with what ever we needed. We will be back, God willing,our next trip to this area. Much Thanks to Rudy and his family for allowing us such a pleasure..

We just loved the house when we stayed for the weekend. We spent the day on the patio by the pool and then at night we stayed outside but in the heated spa. What a lovely view of the valley. We recommend it highly. Five stars. -[Tanya]

I am familiar with the neighborhood and the property. I have stayed at Runningwood many nights and hate to leave each time. If its not the natural wildlife and botanical surroundings that capture my attention, it the house and pool itself. The level of detail given to the house is superior to any residential dwelling I know of. The layout offers great backgrounds for both casual and intimate gatherings, or more formal social philanthropic events. The property is and in my opinion still remains the most attractive real estate in the Sonoma wine country. The rates may be slightly higher than other properties in the wine country, but the experience you acquire is worth ten times the rate. I very much recommend spending time at Runningwood, particularly in August and September.
