Description of the Sonoma vacation home rental
Welcome to The Valley Of The Moon! Glen Ellen, a little gem in the heart of the rolling green hills of wine country, is only 15 minutes from Sonoma and prides itself on offering something amazing for everyone. Come and experience the wilderness at your doorstep!

Nestled among giant Oaks, hugging a sprawling forest and across from Morton's Warm Springs (open only during the summer months), our lovely sanctuary, THE OAK HAVEN, offers the blissful relaxation of a welcome retreat. Come and see the deer, turkey, fox and other wildlife that wander among the native trees and shrubs that surround our gorgeous, newly remodeled wine country getaway. In the winter a gurgling stream borders the property flowing amid stones and golden leaves.

Our elegant home features a spacious, surrounding deck with a grill and outdoor table that seats 6 for dining in the sunshine/shade while enjoying forest scenery or star-gazing in the evening with zero light pollution. Enjoy a soak under the stars after dinner in our large, 6 person hot tub!

High, sloping, wooden ceilings, panoramic windows, a dining table for 6, gorgeous antique furniture, hardwood floors, beautiful ceiling fans, well appointed lighting and a pellet-burning fireplace combine to create a luxurious, relaxing experience with a quaint, rustic feel.

Enjoy your preferred media on our portable 50 inch flat screen Apple TV and surround sound speaker bar. You can easily surf for movies, news, HBO shows, sports, iTunes and many more in high def. Apple TV also offers access to your personal iTunes music library from your laptop or iPhone. High speed internet is also readily available.

For reading enthusiasts, there's a plush lounging chair with a foot rest by the fireplace. A book case offering local hiking/biking guide books, cook books, board games and classic short stories is close by.

Crack a bottle of local, organic wine in our well appointed, fully stocked kitchen. Gleaming in black, silver and green with large sun lit windows, our kitchen also offers ample storage space, an electric stove top, a double oven, a large brand new stainless steel fridge and all new appliances including a coffee grinder, juicer, coffee maker, and french press.

The master bedroom suite features a queen bed, newly remodeled bathroom, an open walk in closet that serves as a little room where you can use our treadmill, antique armoire, a fan for fresh air, AC window unit, plush new carpet and a sliding door out to the surrounding deck.

Our middle room offers a brand new, comfy double size bed for those couples that like to snuggle close and an antique reading table.

Our guest bedroom features a queen bed, antique armoire, new carpet, AC window unit and big closet. Both bedrooms come with iPhone charger docks plus speakers with FM Radio, Alarm Clock and remote control.

Off street parking in front of our gate accommodates up to 3 small cars or 2 large ones. We recommend parking them on an angle. There is also ample public parking across the street in front of the chain link fence at Morton's Warm Springs. From San Francisco airport, it will take approximately 90 minutes outside of rush hour coming through SF and over the Golden Gate Bridge. From the Oakland Airport is 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The house as a whole is quite enchanting and comfortable with plenty of seating, entertainment and gorgeous views. Come, enjoy yourself and take a load off. You deserve it! :)

Area Info
As a nature lovers and avid hikers Claude and I were drawn to Glen Ellen for it's numerous state parks and cycling opportunities. Awe inspiring natural surroundings took our breath away and had us coming back to the area time and time again. When we decided to look for a vacation home, privacy was on the top of our priority list. I said yes as soon as I walked into our house in January 2013. The house was perfect with an uninhabited forest on one side, a sloping hill behind and below us and a nice, tall fence separating our property from our friendly neighbor, Jim. We also fell in love with the quaint town of Sonoma (15 min away) for it's diverse culinary offerings, lovely town square and artisan craft stores and wine tasting opportunities. We really have it all in this area.
