Description of the Souris vacation cottage rental
This ocean front Beach House on 32 private acres offers luxury living, absolute seclusion, swimming beaches, pristine eco-terrain, and miles of spectacular panoramic views from every window of the beach house in every season!
From your first winding drive through the pines until sunset relaxing in the hot tub, the Prince Edward Island beach house, called the Chateau will set your pace to PEI time. Your vacation here will provide the supreme North Shore experience in a setting where high expectations of quality and comfort will be met.
In this world where ragged shores meet carpets of blueberries, roses and scrub pine, an bald eagle hunting in the brilliant blue sky reminds us that the Chateau has a wild side, too. The vast expanse of ocean is gentle or powerful, changing character against a backdrop of cliff and beach.
The Chateau is open and dramatic in structure, with slate and maple flooring, exposed beams, pine tree posts and 16' vaulted ceilings. Its unique architectural design incorporates a gambrel roof dairy barn moved to this ideal location. Chateau Bayfield
With nearly 3,000 square feet of living space… sleeping 11 with three spacious bedrooms, a sleeping loft and games room with futons and three full baths, the Chateau accommodates you and yours without compromise.
The Great Room is built around a fireplace made of old hand shaped Island foundation Stone. The main floor has large open living, dining and window seat areas with a multitude of windows…all with ocean views! The feel is expansive yet secure. Decorating reflects tones and textures found in the Chateau's surrounding environment. Decks on the main and second floors beckon…
Stunning interior design ranges from the gracious vaulted Master Bedroom Suite with its double spa and native décor of oak, wrought iron, and delicate organdy & leaf, to the cozy second floor loft with crow's-nest-view deck and nautical feel.
The main floor deck offers an outdoor shower and six-person Hot Tub. The sun rises and sets over the ocean, Long Point and distant Naufrage Light. Blazing reds and smudged pinks entertain as only an island sunset can!
The central custom kitchen is the delight of Chateau Bayfield's owner. With its classic French Country charm, antiques, cookbooks, and all Kitchen-Aid appliances, even cooking and serving are a pleasure.
The Nantucket- style downstairs has a game room. The two lovely downstairs bedrooms (Lighthouse and Beachhouse), are suitable for children, yet meet the discriminating standards of your adult guests. Chateau Bayfield epitomizes flexibility and quality throughout.
The Chateau is meticulously decorated with antique pieces and original art that will delight the eye, as well as Island-made fine furniture and overstuffed comfort around all the right places (like the hearth and 36" TV)
Experience sunrise from your bed, then breakfast on the deck and, in season, watch the lobster boats in the fishing grounds off Long Point. Sunbathe and swim in privacy here at the Chateau. Try your hand at horseshoes or enjoy the "swing with a view". Spend the day hiking your own shoreline or biking on nearby Confederation Trail.
Go beach combing, walk along sandstone cliffs and tidal pools orexplore the undersea. Watch for shore birds or Eagles and Osprey hunting off the cliffs. Keep a lookout for seals or porpoises playing in the deep-water… all from your own decks!
Your location also offers the best of other North and South Shore beaches. You are minutes from North Shore's Campbell Cove and Greenwich Parks or beautiful Singing Sands at Basin Head, a treasured South Shore beach.
The nearby fishing village of North Lake offers Tuna and deep-sea fishing. The ferry at Souris goes to the picturesque Magdalen Islands. East Point presents a view of North and South shores converging at the tip of the island, as well as a Light House and craft shop. Golf The Links at Crowbush or make a day trip to Anne of Green Gables' Cavindish. There is something for everyone!
Chateau Bayfield is available and comfortable for year round use….from the purples and lovely light of autumn, through winter's creeping frozen dunes, then summer like a crown. And always…the sea…. both challenging and alluring.
You will never forget the unique combination of seclusion, luxury and adventure that is… Chateau Bayfield.
