Description of the South Lake Tahoe vacation chalet rental

Heavenly Vacation Home - 4 bedroom, sleeps 12. This well appointed vacation home is approx. 3 blocks to Heavenly Valley Ski lift. It is located on a quiet cul-de-sac of six homes, yet it is close to shopping and other amenities. The home is one mile from the lake and two miles from the casinos. Local Activities include; Skiing, Hiking, Biking, Boating,Golfing,Gambling, Nightlife, Restaurants,and Theatre. The three bedroom home next door is also available for rent and listed. This house , 1 mile to lake, 2 miles to casinos. 1st Floor: 3 bedrooms with queen beds;1 bedroom with 1 twin bed and a double futon with bunk over, TV and VCR. 2nd Floor: Large open living and dining area (approx 900 sq ft) with cable TV, VCR and daybed with trundle. There is also a 24 x 10 ft deck with BBQ, table and chairs. Fully equipped kitchen with service for 12 people.

Great place to stay. Super kitchen and a table large enough for fourteen (we had fourteen for the 'rehearsal dinner' and it worked out great). Our only complaint is the beds. Queen beds don't work for old folks like my wife and me, plus the sheets on one of the beds felt like sandpaper. The cleaning/servicing company needs to be more attentive to detail. My wife slept on one of the queen beds (with reasonable sheets) and I slept on the day bed upstairs. Although not ideal, it worked out OK. A note said that the dishwasher door wouldn't latch and therefore not work. Not true. All you need to do is push the door closed VERY firmly and it latches and works perfectly. The glass shower doors in the upstairs shower were off the track. I managed to reset one of the doors so that the shower could be used. It needs attention as only one of the doors moves and it won't take much for it to be off the track and jam again. But... we really enjoyed our stay in the home and will stay there again in the future. :-)

Best bang for the buck, April 16, 2009

I've stayed here before, but it was my first time renting it myself. The kitchen is fully stocked, there's a great area to play games and have a big group dinner, and there's enough area for everyone to sleep in. The only two things missing are a hot tub and internet... I don't mind too much tho- I'm sure we'd have to pay more for those luxuries. The owners are pretty awesome. The next door neighbor thinks so too. :)
