The Liberty Builder’s Home is a welcoming, warm and private summer vacation home on the famously beautiful Maine Coast, perfect for informal family fun and relaxation, and a convenient base for wider Maine excursions. Our comfortable and rambling house is nestled in a secluded lot at the bottom of a dead end lane, and only a short 200 yards stroll to Willard Beach. The house is within a five minutes drive to Portland “the most livable city in America” (Forbes Magazine). The renowned neighborhood Scratch Bakery, ice-cream, and other stores are around the corner.
Come, relax, and decompress; Take a ride on our bikes on the Greenbelt Trail - a bike trail that extends from Back Cove in Portland to Scarborough; Work up an appetite with a game of bocce or tag-football on the large lush lawn; Stroll down to Willard Beach on the beautiful Maine coast, and explore the coves and Fort Preble. Just minutes away, you can explore the historic port city of Portland with its delightful Old Port quarter, countless restaurants and shops, museums, theaters and historic sites. Ferries abound to destinations in Casco Bay, and beyond (even to Nova Scotia). Our home is a comfortable base for trips up and down the Maine coast, sightseeing, hiking, bird watching, whale watching, shopping, and antiquing. You can enjoy a simple and inexpensive lobster meal on one of Maine’s many “lobster wharves”, or even at home on the deck!.

And for complete decompression don’t even leave the house – send the kids out to play and curl up with a book or a movie, or use the pool table or ping-pong in our game room. To get away, yet feel at home, call or email for availability and reservations today!
Area Info
Willard Beach, being a 1 minute walk from your yard, is a quaint local beach, with islands just past the moored boats, local fishing and shipping traffic cruising out the shipping channel to the ocean, and rocks to explore. Portland, "the most livable city in America" -Forbes, is 5 minutes away! It is number 1-2 in the country with San Francisco, for restaurants per capita, and they are fantastic! Explore the working waterfront, and get a lobster on the wharf, or catch a Sea Dogs game (Portland's minor league Baseball team). Take in knowledge of the history of the city and harbor, and please your art eye, from the many renowned museums. Portland's Historic Old Port also has wonderful shopping, with boutiques, art galleries, and unique local vendors. Then take a short ferry ride out to some of the one of a kind township islands in Casco Bay to experience the slower life, or simply take a drive up the classic Maine coast, and get lost in its beautiful 3500 miles of waters edge. Whatever you do, you will truly get wrapped up in the Maine way of life!

Great rental!!!!

July 15, 2011

The photos do not give it justice. The home is very clean and spacious. We loved having the pool table. Master bedroom and bath was a great place for all of the ladies to get ready for a wedding. Views are awesome. Two minute walk to Willard Beach. Beautiful lawn with plenty of room for large family gatherings.

Spacious but Drab, a Beautiful Spot!

August 25, 2010

First the good, even great, news! The house is a very short walk to a lovely beach. It is beautifully situated in a very private cul du sac. The house itself a spacious and more or less comfortable, three good-sized bedrooms. But:depessing decor more or less throughout;industrial carpeting everywhere, drab furniture (the dining room tables a hoot!)& a second bathroom on the first floor, far from the rooms it's supposed to serve, make it a bit less than ecstatic experience & make one carp a bit at the 1,700+ price tag. Still, I actually would go there again, amazingly; for despite the "railroad-flat" layout, it's capacious and wonderfully situated! Also, the renting agent is very sweet, efficient, and there when needed.Important!

Relaxing and fun vacation

June 25, 2010

We stayed at the Liberty Builder Home for a weekend. The upstairs master bedroom and family room were sweet and comfortable. Our son played pool, and we took a ride on the bikes. The walk down to Willard's Beach was easy, and very beautiful. There is a spot there where the waves crash gently on to the rocks that I can only call "little heaven". We took the recommendation and had dinner at the Good Table Restaurant, and then strolled down along the beach at Two Lights. Great food, and great air. Highly recommend for a family or two to vacation together.
