Historic vineyard farmhouse surrounded by vines on two sides, only 400ft from a semi-private sandy bay beach overlooking Southold Bay towards Shelter Island and the Hamptons. Built in the late 19th Century, the house has a large mature garden and semi-private sugar sand beach is surrounded on two sides by beautiful vineyards.

Area Description

Located in Southold, on the East End of Long Island, New York. Only 2 hours from Manhattan, 90 minutes from JFK and 45 minutes from Islip, but a world apart. The perfect location to explore Long Island's Wine Country and enjoy a beach holiday at the same time.

The area is well known for beautiful sandy beaches, vineyards with cultural events, wine tasting and pick-your-own fruit and pumpkin farms, as well as being an artistic center, with many art galleries, antique shops and designer stores to browse.

In Riverhead, there is an Outlet center for cut price designer clothes, also Splish Splash Water Park. Greenport is a bustling seaport village with fine dining and lively waterfront bars.

Activities also include fishing, swimming, kayaking and all things boating. In winter, there's an outdoor ice skating rink on the waterfront.

Such a beautiful house in a wonderful location. We've had a relaxing week and have drunk plenty of local wine. Matilda's highlights (age 2yrs) were the beach and the carousel at Greenport. Our relatives from New Jersey who visited whilst we were here would like to come back for a week next summer, they really loved it too. Thanks, we really enjoyed this part of our honeymoon.
