Dream Stay

We had the perfect balance of nature and convenience in this quaint little cottage in the hill country. There was wildlife everwhere putting on a show and a quiet peaceful porch to sit back and watch from. The hot tub was the added bonus that made this like a luxury vacation. The owner was completely accomodating and extremely friendly. If this location fits your needs - the cottage is a definite must!

It's been 1 year since we visited in Joy's cottage. When we think of the 3 weeks in Texas to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary, the week in the cottage was definitely the highlight of the trip. It's the perfect location for access to all of the local sites yet offers lots of serenity for you to get in touch with what is important. It's just a wonderful experience.

Serenity in the Texas Hill Country

Francine and I rented this wonderful rustic cottage only 20 minutes north of San Antonio with everything you could ask for just minutes away. The cottage is a two bedroom bungalow with plenty of space, a large covered porch overlooking a running creek on the property and a majestic tree covered huge lot where deer and wildlife abound. The perfect spot to relax with cable TV, Wi-Fi internet and a hot tub to boot. As if this wasn't enough the hospitality you will receive from owner Joy Manuel and her family is just second to none. For hikers or walkers the sights can't be beat. For those who enjoy touring, the Texas Hill Country is absolutely beautiful. With a vast number of quaint towns, the Texas Hill Country will keep you entertained more than you can handle. The area is teeming with restaurants and of course, BBQs galore which you don't want to pass up. Fantastic cuisine awaits you at every turn. But the scenery everywhere you go will leave you breathless and wanting for more. If staying in is your thing, you will find all you need to enjoy home cooked meals and complete relaxation on the porch. Francine and I both agree that for the price, you can't do any better. This cottage has all the amenities you could ask for and if it doesn't, Joy will do what she can to obtain it for you. In fact, Joy will do her very best to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. For the most peaceful vacation money can buy, stay at Joy Manuel's rustic cottage in the Texas Hill Country. You won't regret it!

Wonderful Place!

The place was so peaceful and restful. We caught fish, soaked in the hot tub, went tubbing on the river, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was like being at home but taking a great break from it all. This place rocks!

JOY, your name aptly describes "The Hill Country Cottage". We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your great neighborhood. With warm hospitality you made sure all our needs were met.
The Hill Country offers everything one can ask for. Highlights include the San Antonio "River Walk", Freidricksburg strolling and the BBQ. The Ghistmill at Gruene, the Kyle Pie Company, Enchanted Rock and the miles & miles of scenic beauty. Best of all were the lazy days & evenings, relaxing, watching the creek run, the deer prancing about and the birds and butterflies. By far the best vacation month we've spent anywhere. Joy, Thank you so much for sharing yor home. We enjoyed the peace and quiet neighborhood. It was nice to just sit on the deck and watch all the birds by the creek. The hot tub on cool nights was nice too. There is nothing lacking in the neighborhood, from restarants to grocery stores only minutes away. Lots to do around Canyon Lake too. Thanks again Joy.
