Description of the St Augustine vacation home rental

Pelican Point is a charming "old Florida" style beach home with all the modern conveniences located oceanfront at South Ponte Vedra Beach and 5 miles from historic St Augustine. Recently completely remodeled it accommodates beach-goers of all ages and dispositions: those looking for a quiet place to relax in a hammock or whirlpool tub, as well as those seeking the perfect spot to swim, surf, walk the beach or fish. At the end of the day family or friends can gather and relax around the dinner table, the widescreen TV, the electric fireplace, or on the screen porch or one of the decks. Wherever you are views of the ocean are right there!
Pelican Point has three stories. The third story has two bedrooms, two baths and a sitting room. In the master bedroom there is a kingsize bed overlooking the ocean and a master bath with a sit-down shower and separate whirlpool tub both with ocean views as well as a deck for more views. All of the bathrooms are constructed from Italian travertine. The guest bedroom has a queensize bed, a bath, and a large deck overlooking the ocean. A sitting room adjoins the bedroom and bath and has a daybed underneath windows with ocean views. Because we are the highest home along this stretch of beach there are unimpaired views in all directions. Interior and exterior stairs connect the third and second floors.
The second floor has a bedroom, one and a half baths, a large screen porch, a large living and dining area and kitchen. You can eat, sleep, relax and watch the sun rise and set on the screen porch. French doors connect the porch to a large living room with heart pine floors, multiple ceiling fans, antiques, and comfortable rockers. There is also an electric fireplace to give the room warmth on blustery days. The kitchen, dining and living area all have panoramic ocean views. The kitchen is fully equipped with pantry, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, etc. The bedroom has a kingsize bed, bath and deck with ocean views. There is also a laundry room and half bath on this floor.
The first floor is a large studio apartment with a queensize bed and 2 single beds. The sofa makes into a queensize bed. There is a small kitchenette and a full bath on this floor. We welcome friends and families with small children and have available for use: a crib, high chair, childrens table and chairs, sandbox, games, books and puzzles for all ages.

Pelican Point is 5 miles from historic St Augustine with an old fort, lighthouse, quaint shops, historic buildings, and great restaurants. We are 15 miles from several famous golf courses including Sawgrass, Players Championship and the World Golf Village. In addition, Serenata Beach Club is only a few blocks north of us and because we are members our renters can join for the week with a family rate. This gives you the option of using their three pools (one is heated), their jacuzzi and fitness room. Tennis is available in St Augustine. Deep sea fishing charters, parasailing, jet skiing, bike rentals, horseback riding, sailboat excursions, ghost walks, boat rentals, are all available nearby. We are about 5 miles from Guana River State Preserve, a bird sanctuary, which has a lake with fresh water fishing and hiking. Marineland is about 25 miles south with dolphin shows. Disneyworld, Universal Studios, MGM Studios, Epcot, and SeaWorld and other Orlando attractions are less than 2 hours away.
Of course the best area is the beach in your front yard where you have natural dunes with conchs, sand dollars, prehistoric sharks teeth, and lots of sea life: dolphins, occasionally whales (wintertime) manatees and sea turtles (summertime) and shore birds year round: pelicans, gulls, anhingas, osprey and eagles. We have three great restaurants within a mile of our house.
