Our guests enjoy exploring Talbot County from land and water, as the area is well-suited to walking, driving, biking, kayaking, and boating. From the pier, set out our crab pot and eat your fill!
The home offers high-speed cable internet, cable TV, central AC, washer/dryer, new kitchen, and a cozy fireplace to keep you warm on a chilly evening. Spring, summer, fall, enjoy the comfort of an indoor sunporch or either of two water-oriented decks for great bird watching.

Wonderful Vacation Spot

I rented the cottage with some friends for a New Years getaway. The house is wonderful, located on a small street quite off the main road. The property is beautiful, and the house is open with a ton of windows to enjoy the amazing creek view and the sun from rise to set. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and the footed bathtub in the upstairs bathroom (we were able to buy firewood from a very nice neighbor who cuts trees at the corner where the street meets the main thruway; he was friendly and gave us a great deal for 2 nights worth of wood, much cheaper than the grocery store). The owner was kind, communicative, and very accommodating. Renting was a breeze, and the experience was wonderful. I'll definitely be booking again if I'm looking for a place on the eastern shore. Next time we'll bring a canoe to launch off of the pier and enjoy the still and peaceful creek water.

Peaceful Retreat

I rented the River House with three other girlfriends to celebrate our 55th birthdays. The rental experience itself was very quick and easy. The house was lovely with an open floor plan and large windows on all sides overlooking a peaceful inlet. The kitchen was fully equipped and we really enjoyed eating breakfast and other meals in the beautiful sunroom. The location was perfect being very close to St. Michael's as well as other picturesque little towns and Chesapeake Bay. If you want peace and quiet and to relax by the water with beautiful sunsets, the River House is the place to be. I would love to return.

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed an amazing week at the River House. It is down a quiet little street with beautiful views of Oak Creek from every spot in the house. The house is full of light and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed several bike rides in the area and were able to kayak from our front yard. I highly recommend it!

Escape from Irene

We were hard hit by Hurricane Irene . Since my husband's birthday is in late September, we decided to plan a mini escape from all the cleanup work we've been doing since Aug. 28th. So , along with our adult children & their spouses we spent a beautiful & restful long weekend at the cottage. There are wonderful views from every room . St. Michael's , Easton & a fun ferry ride are all nearby but, you never have to leave the cottage to enjoy yourself. We ventured to The Blackwater Wildlife where we got great photods of bald eagles. It was a great back from a difficult time in our lives.

Braving the cold

Although the weather was not on our side with below freezing temperatures, or maybe in spite of this, we enjoyed our stay from within the cabin. The views to the waterfront were spectacular. We had a great time observing the bald eagles and falcons and all the beautiful little birds which we don't know by name. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable and made us feel at home. We will come again anytime of the year.

Beautiful Spot

I am hesitant to even mention how wonderful this house is because I hope to rent again without competition! The location is excellent as it is close to the lovely town of St. Michaels and the Oxford ferry. The best part of the property is the 180 degree views of the river. From nearly every room, we were able to enjoy a beautiful and peaceful view. The home was clean, comfortable and well appointed.

Wonderful escape!

A wonderful cottage easily accessed from DC or Baltimore. Right on the river, the River House is beautifully decorated, cosy and easily sleeps 6. It's very close to St. Michaels and Easton. We had a fantastic weekend there and just wish we could have stayed longer!
