Description of the St Simons Island vacation cottage rental

Situated at the entrance to the Sea Island causeway, Black Banks Plantation is a unique and charming neighborhood, named for the original Black Banks Plantation house, built in 1801. The Cottage which was built in 1920 as a carriage house for the Plantation, is nestled amid large, old live oaks and overlooks a very private heated pool, outdoor kitchen and outdoor fireplace.

The house was completely renovated and decorated within the last several years and offers all the luxury, warmth and charm needed to make the most of a stay on this wonderful island. Enjoy this vacation paradise any time of year; mild winters are perfect for a swim in the heated pool and a snuggle by the fireplace.

The options are many! Swim, cook outside on the large, built-in gas grill, throw a log on the gas-assisted outdoor fireplace and relax or put on your party shoes and head out for a gracious dinner at the nearby Cloister or Halyard's before going to Ziggy Mahoney's for dancing!

When you're done, come "home" to this quiet, comfortable and charming alternative to the busy condo scene.

St Simons has so much to offer that it's hard to know where to start. We all love the beach, so that was our first draw, as was the proximity to our home north of Atlanta but we also wanted a "real" home, a "real" community not just a condo-row experience. The community on St Simons is just that and more. Neighborhoods, churches, newcomer's groups, garden club or little theater, there is a place to be part of the rich fabric that is St Simons Island!
The unique character of the cottage is in it's beautiful and private setting. You'll feel like you're miles away from the hullaballoo but in reality - you are minutes from a lovely beach, lighthouse, "village", biking, shopping and kayaking.
