Description of the St Simons Island vacation cottage rental
Notice! There have been quite a few additions to the vacation rental market on St. Simons Island over the past year or more. This is primarily due to the economic crisis. Many homes may not be well furnished or may be in trouble financially, so make sure you do your homework!

This is a classic 1940's Island Cottage Home in a perfect location near the Village! This is not a second home with personal belongings in it, but rather a boutique cottage that we use exclusively for our guests at Island Cottage Company, a family owned business we started 9 years ago! We have lots of repeat guests and are happy to provide references.

This 2 Bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home (sleeps 6) is located just 4 blocks from Mallory Park and the Village/Pier Area on St. Simons, which boasts wonderful pubs, restaurants, two parks, beach access and a new public pool, along with tennis courts and a GREAT little library.

Guests rave about the high quality furnishings, linens and comfortable beds.

The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and has easy access to the many bicycle and walking paths that St. Simons Island has to offer.

Closed in back porch leads to a deck overlooking a large fenced in back yard. Complete with an outdoor shower and teak furniture with umbrella, it is the perfect place for a BBQ with the family.

A large fenced-in back yard, full of our famous Live Oak trees and complete with swingset, allows the kids and dogs a good place to run while you grill fresh fish on the large gas grill, complete with gas.

All the neighbors are wonderful people and we take care to ensure that our guests feel at home and respect the folks that live here permanently. Loud noise or large parties are not appropriate for this area.

Southern Hospitality

St Simons Island is just as described, very picturesuqe and lots to do. Our cottage was quaint and very cozy as well as close to the downtown square. Our host, Michelle, was very nice and easy to work with and started us off with Cheese, crackers and wine, everything a "Cheese Head" needs. Oh yeah, did I mention the BBQ Grill, perfect for Brats soaked in Beer. We will return agin next year to St Simons Island. I suggest Palmers for breakfast and the Palms for Coffee and desert.

Seagull Cottage is a Winner!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Seagull Cottage. Close to everything. I loved walking my dog to The Village and the Pier every morning. As far as the accommodations go….excellent. Comfortable, immaculate and perfectly decorated. My husband and I are retired innkeepers, so we're pretty fussy about the places we stay for vacations. Seagull Cottage deserves the 5 star rating. We will definitely return.

Owner's reply:

Boy! That means a lot coming from a fellow innkeeper! Thank you so much for your kind words.

Wonderful Cottage!

Our family of 6 (including one yellow lab) LOVED the Seagull Cottage. It was located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to town and biking distance to the beach. The cottage itself is a little older, but it was very clean and nicely decorated! The bathroom and kitchen have been updated in recent years. The owner is wonderful to work with, and is happy to provide many necessities (that many other places do not--like linens, towels, beach towels, paper products, laundry and dishwasher soap, trash bags, grill accessories, etc.) She even had our favorite refreshments waiting for us in the fridge upon arrival! Our kids and dog really enjoyed the fenced, shaded back yard. We will certainly be staying here again!

Michele Beveridge

Owner's reply:

Dawn, thank you so much for taking the time to follow up your stay with a review. We loved having you and your beautiful family and I know that I will never have the opportunity to love on a softer dog ever again! Thank you for your patience with the internet problem. It was an outside connection on the pole and the technician was able to fix it in a jiffy!

Great place, awesome location

This is a great place to stay, very cute and well decorated house. Location is perfect! Very close to the village, pier and beach. we could not have asked for better. Our children were also so happy to have a huge backyard.

A Rare Find!!!

LOVE,LOVE, LOVE this place & this owner. This cottage is an ideal getaway to St. Simons. Very neat and clean with all necessary amenities, comfortable furnishings and so tastefully decorated. Wonderful, easy to work with owner. She is so thoughtful & generous and pays special attention to "details". She also has immense knowledge about the area and is very involved with the community. The cottage is located within an easy bike ride and/or walk to restaurants, beach and "The Village" area. We hope to return again in the near future and will definitely stay at The Seagull or any of "Island Cottages" properties. Thanks again Michele for making our visit to St. Simons one of our most relaxing vacations ever!

Michele Beveridge

Owner's reply:

I cannot tell you how nice this was to read, Chris. You two were lovely to meet and I cannot WAIT until you can get back here. Thank you so much for putting a review out here. I tend to forget to ask people to do it. When someone does it without my asking, it is a real gift.
