Description of the St Thomas vacation cottage rental

Have you thought about a great family holiday on a farm? We have a fully furnished 2 bedroom Holiday Home where we raise chickens, ducks and pygmy goats.

There are two double bedrooms, there is also a crib, high-chair and playpen available; living room has fireplace, dining area, double sofa-bed and doors to garden. Fully equipped modern kitchen, bathroom, patio with table, chairs & BBQ.

We have recently installed a 24' swimming pool for our guests to enjoy during the hot summer months and also a 8-person Jacuzzi hot-tub for our visitors to enjoy.

There is a selection of family board games and books for those quiet evenings in front of the fireplace - we supply the firewood!

We have fishing poles for you to use in our river and, weather permitting, you can have a campfire before you leave!

We also have beach towels, lawn chairs and picnic basket for you to use for those relaxing days at the beach.

Area Description

Located in the pretty town of St. Thomas, which has the charm of a small town and is a community known for friendly people, easy, inexpensive living in safe neighbourhoods with abundant, accessible parkland and community facilities. Pleasant Valley Golf & Country Club is just 10 minutes away. Nearby London, Ontario has 9 public Golf Courses for your enjoyment.

We are 15 minutes from London, Ontario, (pop. 360,000), 1 1/2 hours from Toronto airport, 2 1/2 hours from beautiful Niagara Falls.

In 15 minutes you can be in the pretty fishing village of Port Stanley on the north shore of Lake Erie or the Provincial Park at Port Burwell, enjoying the peace and tranquility of some of the last remaining Carolinian forest in Ontario. Port Stanley has one of the finest stretches of sandy beach on the north shore of Lake Erie. The village is a popular destination for tourists and holiday-makers.

By car you can explore this beautiful area of Southern Ontario, which has several clean beaches, wineries, quaint villages and the weekly Farmer's market at the nearby town of Aylmer.

We are a 5 minute drive from the centre of the town of St Thomas, with its Railway Museum, statue of Jumbo the Elephant (who met an untimely death here in 1885). Visitor information services, beaches, shopping, attractions and restaurants are all nearby.

The nearby village of Sparta is the home of the St Thomas Dragway which is a great way for those car-racing enthusiasts to spend a summer day!

The accommodations were everything advertized and more. The owners were a joy. This is a perfect place for the family to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. I would highly recommend this location.

Stayed with Barb and Case for 2 weeks. Everything we could possibly hope for. Treated like one of the family. Great wildlife and fishing. Easy access to the 401. Would recommend this place whole-heartedly!

We stayed at Sunnybrook Hobby Farm in May 2006 as we wish to locate to the St Thomas area from England. We were met with a warm welcome by the Van Horn family and made to feel at home for the 2 weeks that we were there. The apartment was very comfortable,spacious and well equiped even down to toys for our 3yr old to play with. The setting of Sunnybrook was traquil and relaxing with a lovely woodland walk and outdoor entertainment was provided from the goats and chickens much to the delight of our daughter. The location is superb as we found it was quick and easy to commute to the surrounding areas by the 401 which was minutes away. Looking forward to staying with the Van Horn family again this year.

In June four of my cousins from Europe came to this area for a family wedding and stayed at the Sunnybrook apartment. The location was lovely and they were very comfortable. The apartment is roomy and very clean. They enjoyed the animals and the riverside walk. The apartment is only 5 minutes from town so it was convenient. Excellent value for money!
