Description of the Stanwood vacation cottage rental

Reserve "a little piece of heaven" for a fall or winter break, or a spring or summer vacation! New in 2007, this "Canadian Lakes" lodge is one hour north of Grand Rapids, MI. Nestled among the pines on "Lake Kilkenny," this unique vacation home was built to accommodate groups and is handicap accessible. It boasts a bunk room with two sets of extra long bunk beds, a "mens" and "womens" bathroom, a hot tub, t.v. and internet.
While the open floor plan and gourmet kitchen suggest large gatherings, there are ample spaces for privacy as well. The loft, for example, is a wonderful place to read a book or take a nap. A screened-in porch has chairs enough to encourage memorable conversations and is ideal for sipping a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon cocktail. The beach is perfect for catching a few fish or some rays, and a deck strung along the beach-side of the cottage, is the perfect observation point. There are many opportunities for outdoor winter activities as well, making this a year-round haven!

Area Information

Vacationers to "Kilkenny of Tullymore" enjoy Canadian Lakes membership perks, as well. These include access to all beaches, admittance to indoor and outdoor pools, use of tennis and basketball courts, and golf at three private courses. In addition, two nationally recognized golf courses, "St. Ives" and "Tullymore," are minutes from the front door.
Canadian Lakes also offers miles of paved roads for walking or bike riding, as well as opportunities for off-road exploration. Horse back riding is available at the Outback riding stable on Buchanan Rd., and the Little Muskegon River is ideal for canoeing, tubing and fly fishing.

Eaton's Weekend Get-A-Way

My birthday was coming up at the end of the month for my "Big 70"and I wanted to give back to my Family as they have given to me. So I decided, with my wife, to gather my two Son's, their wives, Daughter and Friend and our two grand children, Riley and Liam to a winter treat as a gift from me. The criteria was to be a country setting, on water with lot's of room to roam, relax and just hang out and be within an hours drive from where everyone lives. Well we did just that. Lake front custom - built cottage provider that and much more than expected. All four of our family each had their own bedroom with very restful beds, the two kids loved the bunk beds, with four bathrooms and showers to go around. The hot tub and setting around the fire place was the most favorite place while my son prepared in the kitchen which is part of the great room so he did not miss out on anything and could join in with the laughter. Weather was super outside so we could take walks, jog, site see, and see some of Michigan's wild life. Many pictures were taken of all our activities inside and out as a remembrance of My Birthday and the Gift I gave back to my Family. We are all still thinking of our great time together and talking about, Let's Do It Again. We want to thank the host for opening up this beautiful vacation home, showing us around and it's use of the many unexpected extras that made this a "Great 70".

Great relaxing week

August 21, 2012

We had an amazing week. This house is beautiful and big. There is lots of room, tons of space for everything you want to do. The kitchen is great we actually did more cooking then planned because eveything was so handy. All of the beds were very comfortable no cheap mattresses or linens here. The house has a lot of privacy which is different from many lake houses. The lake is pretty clean for playing but there are a lot of fish and turtles. There is a pretty big drop off if you have children. We spent most of the week floating on rafts in the lake and it was heaven. One thing to note is there is only one tv, this was not really a problem for us but if we would have had more men it may have been. We didn't have any trouble with cell phone usage, interent, or tv. We look foraward to another family vacation at this wonderful lake home.

Great Vacation Home for Multi-Family Getaway

April 28, 2012

Located between 15-20 minutes from Big Rapids. Awesome kitchen, fully stocked and open floor plan with family room and fireplace. Families enjoyed the proximity of the cottage to the water; the kids had a wonderful experience fishing this catch-n-release lake. Minimal neighbors surrounding property made for a secluded weekend vacation. Thanks Lisa and Patrick - everyone had a great time - looking forward to returning next year!

Amazing place to stay!

This home was better than we imagined! Upon first entering, our group was amazed at how beautiful the house and surrounding area is. The adjacent lake is clean and a fun place to hang out and swim. The owners, Lisa and Pat, are also very friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend this location!
