Description of the Stinson Beach vacation home rental

Our home is perched at the top of Inverness Ridge with a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean, Farallon Islands, and the highest mountains of Point Reyes National Seashore. Absolute peace, quiet and fresh air, a five minute stroll from the park trails, a stay at the Artist Retreat is a deeply moving experience. Created by the authors of Point Reyes Visions from their own design, this 9 year old retreat has all the comforts of a lodge in the woods: a bath large enough for two, double shower heads, new towels and linens, a gourmet kitchen with a Dynasty range, internet computer with great music, a giant living/dining room with amazing picture windows and a 20 foot ceiling. The house is a green design, with passive solar heating plus a Danish Woodstove and backup central heating. The bathroom is tiled with tumbled Italian marble. A futon is available for a child or extra guest. The house is ideally suited for a couple.

It is equipped with an outside BBQ, picnic table. The walls are filled with the artwork of the owners, Kathleen Goodwin and Richard Blair, who have spent over 30 years chronicling the wilds of West Marin. Why stay in a small B&B or hotel room when you can live in an atmosphere that is so conducive to creativity, relaxation, physical fitness and rejuvenation.

Area Description

Point Reyes is a nature lover's dream vacation. It is ideal for kayaking, horse riding, swimming in Tomales Bay, hiking, both mountain and road biking and one of the best places to bird watch in the USA. The home of the organic food movement. Put Strauss organic cream in your coffee. Savor local eggs with Nieman Ranch bacon. Slurp an oyster, crack a local crab or barbeque a wild salmon. A wonderful weekly farmers market which amazed Prince Charles and Camilia. And yet Inverness is only an hour's drive from San Francisco.
